Dear friends, you are invited to celebrate Maman’s birthday on 2 July.  She would have been 100yo!

Treat yourself to a French pastry, or some Belgian chocolate, or even some delicious gelato/cassata. She loved them all!  (Actually, on a really hot day she loved an icy shandy, but I’m not pushing beer)

I invited Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, Brendan Fraser and Rick Moranis to my Canada Day party. None of them could come but they were all very apologetic.

Just finished my pancakes with real Quebec maple syrup.  I may be listening to the Tragically Hip later today as I raise my Maple Leaf flag and enjoy my first Canada Day as a Canadian citizen.

A local philanthropist erected this statue in downtown Edmonton a few years ago to commemorate the place where the first episodes of The Great White North were filmed.

Maybe we're not really supposed to know the status of Schrodinger's Mitch.

I don't think anyone is going to hassle a mobility-challenged attendee for a minute or three near the Accessibility Parking area (#12 on our https://maplewoodstock.com/about/map/) to escort a family member or Uber customer out of the car onto the festival grounds -- steps away from the Two Towns canopy -- and then move off to park elsewhere.

We are all in this together.

Carville is a dinosaur, a relic of the Bill Clinton era.  Time to move on.

I think there’s anger on one side (the left) and fear on the other (the centrists). Two powerful emotions. 

Carville and his ilk are afraid that opening the door to more left-leaning members will alienate the center. And scare off independent voters who might otherwise select a mainstream Democrat in a presidential or congressional race. 

I think on the left you have a younger electorate that’s frustrated by what appear to be failures by older mainstream Democrats. Other than the Obama and Biden presidencies, we have been outmaneuvered by the Republican Party since the late 90s. Resulting in massive wealth inequality and less opportunity for younger people. 

I think you are interpreting passion on the left for anger. Does Mamdani seem like an angry guy? Our own congresswoman Mejia is certainly not projecting anger. 

if anything these candidates on the left are generating more joy and positivity than any politicians in decades. Calling them angry is adopting the right wing framing.
