Utah - Zion/Bryce/Moab

Are 12 and 8 year olds the right age to appreciate those national parks? Does anyone have hotel recommendations, in addition to Stone Canyon Inn, which looks great.
We went to Moab (Arches and Canyonlands) with our then 8 yr old and 5 yr old. They had a great time.
Our Zion cabin with fireplace. Very very charming. (oops, it's sideways.... sorry!)
