Trump tests positive for Covid 19

CNN is reporting that WH staffers are STILL not wearing masks. (for the most part)

They should pull all reporters out of the White House until the staff there shows that they have a freaking clue.

Even though we shouldn't make fun of Trump for testing positive for the Covid-19, we still must mock him for being a selfish prick.

President Trump is showing symptoms of the novel coronavirus, but mild ones, according to two people familiar with his condition.

The president has had what one person described as cold-like symptoms. At a fund-raiser he attended at his golf club at Bedminster, N.J., on Thursday, where one attendee said the president came in contact with about 100 people, he seemed lethargic.

A person briefed on the matter said that Mr. Trump fell asleep at one point on Air Force One on the way back from a rally in Minnesota on Wednesday night.

Trump is going to have a tougher time forcing states to re-open.

What are the "never maskers" thinking now?

Why would they start thinking now?

On CNBC this morning Rick Santelli, who is a Trump fan, said that if masks made a difference Trump would have caught the virus earlier than 6 1/2 months into the pandemic. I'm sure that this won't change many "never maskers" minds.

I agree, they are that deluded.

I'll reserve any comments about the news as I suspect anything I might say could wind up on Hannity as an example of left wing liberal attitude but, focused as I am on the SCOTUS nominee, will this slow down the business of the Senate? In the spirit of the moment will the GOP decide to mask up and stay home?

"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell tweeted Friday morning that he'd just spoken over the phone with Trump. "He’s in good spirits and we talked business — especially how impressed Senators are with the qualifications of Judge Barrett. Full steam ahead with the fair, thorough, timely process that the nominee, the Court, & the country deserve."

Amy Coney Barrett last had contact with Trump last Saturday and tested negative for the virus. But the incubation period is up to 14 days.

Given the White House's penchant for saying black is white, and up is down, I can only guess what this announcement truly means:

Covid-19 Live Updates: Trump’s Virus Symptoms Appear Mild So Far

personally, I would be very frightened if I got symptoms that Mark Meadows claimed were "mild."

I guess they plan to use Zoom meetings to put Barrett in front of senators.

They'll confirm her if Mitch McConnell has to preside from an ICU bed via Tik Tok.

The incubation period being the time between infection and symptoms, not between infection and a positive test result.

GOP donors are freaking out after having come into close contact with Trump yesterday at his fundraiser in Bedminster.

Why would they panic? Surely if you're working for this man to be president you agree with him that this affects virtually nobody?

they didn't already know they were meeting with a sociopath who wouldn't think twice about killing them if it would be to his benefit?  They didn't know he was all over the country in indoor venues among crowds who weren't social distancing?  It's hard to feel sorry for people who are taking known risks like that.

After seeing all the world's well-wishers' syrupy tweets this morning, it's refreshing to read this thread.

As my son messaged this morning, "He's got Covid and she hates Christmas." T-shirt idea?

Video from Trump's fundraiser yesterday -

Masque of the Red Death has been on my mind all morning.

Biden should get tested again a couple more times over the next week. He was exposed three days ago when Trump was in that pre-symptomatic infective phase. They were far apart and in a very large space. Not really conducive to having a viral load transmitted from one to the other.

CNBC article talked about Trump being distant from the donors in Bedminster. They don't talk about the rest of the Trump staff. Were they all kept distant?

I'm enjoying the karma at the moment while realizing that there are a LOT of unknowable directions in which this situation could take the election and the country. -Particularly depending on his recovery, timing of recovery, severity of symptoms, or LACK of recovery.

Frankly I'll be happy to be shed of the man no matter what.

some people come out of the infection with cognitive deficits, but with Trump how could we tell?

I think that is a great idea!

Here's all the idiots hugging away last weekend at the White House.

Chris Christie can be seen in the last half of this, hope someone looks in to see how he's doing.

This was posted last month...I’m going with this. He does not have COVID

I said almost this exact thing to my husband this morning.

In the picture, at the start of the above, that's Senator Mike Lee, who said he tested positive for the Covid-19.

The President of Notre Dame, who attended the event and had earlier said he was going to self-quarantine just because he had been there without a mask (even before there was any news about Trump), has also now tested positive for the Covid-19.

Trump may have thrown one of those "super spreader events" last weekend in the Rose Garden.

Given the number of people who've been in proximity to the president this week testing positive, I think the "faking it" theory is not likely. I'll be very skeptical of any claims about his actual condition that aren't independently verified, though. Who know how serious it really is?

The faking it theory is ridiculous. It's the left equivalent of QAnon.
