Do I have to set it up with my bank as well as downloading the app?

it's been so long since I started using the app that I don't recall for sure.

Depends on your bank, but usually, no. You put your account info into the app, and you’re up and running. If you belong to a bank that has atms you can access, you should also be able to deposit your check at the atm without talking to a teller.

 what he said

Same answer.  You're basing everything on interpreting.  All he said in your video was that he respects what the states were doing and he deferred to them.  Period.

I have no interest in trying to correct anyone's misinterpretations if they're not going to listen.

Defend this - Tom Perez saying he agrees with the states going forward. He says they have what is needed in place to make it safe. He cannot give any examples of that and it is CLEARLY against CDC guidelines.  Why was he not saying that they should not take place.  He is absolutely responsible here and should either be fired or quit.  Just unconscionable.

Unfrickingbelevable.  It's like you have this filter that blocks everything coming in negative about the DNC or converts it to positive or neutral.  Or else you are just lying.  Perez's remarks here border on criminal.  The DNC is absolutely responsible for supporting these primaries.  Also, the states who want to reschedule their primaries are threatened with loss of delegates.  His remarks are horriific and something I would expect from Republicans.

All hail the new Satan - Tom Perez.

What do I do with my check? I don't mean how do I spend it. I mean literally what do I do.

Are the banks going to stay open? Will the lines at the teller windows require everyone to stand 6 feet away from everyone else on line? At the best of times ATMs are germ incubators.

Will we get our money from the Feds by direct deposit? Or will I have to download and learn to use the App to deposit my check through my smart phone?

You could ask your bank.

Besides the app ml1 mentioned your bank may close their lobbies while leaving drive thru open. For needs that cannot be done at drive thru, such as safe deposit, my bank allows lobby access provided a telephone appointment is scheduled.

Yes, you would love to see the primaries being stopped. If you can't win elections, then stop them. I bet if Bernie was winning you'd be all in for continuing.

Give it up. You've tried to win people over to Bernie. You've done the opposite. If this of haranguing is the norm for the Bernie movement then I can see why it failed.

His whole presentation is almost criminal.  Of course you are fine with it.  Maybe if the DNC killed your children you might offer some mild condemnation.  Maybe.

I am not for holding elections during a pandemic.  I'm following CDC guidelines.  I'm staying home and not socializing or going anywhere other than to get food.  Sports, entertainment all cancelled.  We are not supposed to do anything where more than 10 people at a time gather together.  On what planet was an election a good idea?

Did you see what happened at the primaries that were held?  In Illinois, people were kept packed in a room with no windows for hours.  Do you think that is acceptable?   Please answer this question.  nohero is fine with it and thinks the DNC is innocent.  I want to see what you think.

They are right there in the video.  I don't need to give examples.  It is OBVIOUS. He was on f*** TV giving his blessing to this and the DNC works with the states and they put pressure on the states.

THE DNC CALLED ON STATES TO HOLD THE PRIMARIES.  Why are you defending them?

This idea that the DNC does not run the primaries is BS.  They work with the states and yield tremendous influence.  They have big penalties (loss of delegates) for any state that holds a primary after June 9 and they have not promised to change that.

DNC calls on states not to postpone primaries

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/488111-dnc-calls-on-states-not-to-postpone-primaries

The DNC is under enormous pressure to complete the primary contest between former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) by mid-June ahead of its July convention in Milwaukee. The states have a June 20 deadline to select their delegates to the convention.

The DNC has rules in place to penalize any state that does not complete its primary by June 9 by cutting their number of delegates in half.

Both Louisiana and Kentucky, however, have postponed their elections until June 23.

It’s unclear at the moment how the DNC will handle those changes.

A DNC official said it’s possible that the states will be able to submit a waiver to dismiss the penalties. But any changes are at the discretion of the Rules and Bylaws Committee, which has not yet determined how to move forward.

Perez’s statement noted that the DNC would allow some “flexibility” in how states elect their delegates, but he did not elaborate further.

“The DNC will continue to monitor the situation and work with state parties around their delegate selection plans, specifically allowing flexibility around how states elect their delegates to the national convention once those delegates are allocated based on their primary or caucus results,” Perez said. “The right to vote is the foundation of our democracy, and we must do everything we can to protect and expand that right instead of bringing our democratic process to a halt.”

People will die because they decided to vote this week.  You and nohero defend the DNC exposing other people's children to a disease that might kill them.  The  natural next step is to see how you feel about the DNC doing that to your own.

You know, I don't think you actually have a clue what Perez actually said.

He didn't urge anyone to do anything.  He was just deferring to whatever the states decided to do.

His answer was extremely slippery, but there is no way he urged them to run the elections.

And yet again, he has no power in that regard anyway, regardless of what you say.

And obvious.  Maybe watch and listen instead of relying on a summary by Rational National or Regular Secular or Vidiot Idiot, or whoever first directed you to the video and summarized it for you.

NO, you are wrong.  Perez chooses his words carefully so people like you can continue to excuse him.  The DNC makes the rules about primaries, including when they are held and penalties for not holding them during before June 9th.  He has not exempted anyone from this deadline, despite Ohio changing to June 23.  He is the figurehead and spokesperson for the primaries.

He went on MSNBC and said the primaries were going to happen and he was assured they would be safe. He was clearly enthusiastic about this.  He showed no concern.  He was asked for evidence and he provided none.  Photographs and videos taken from the primaries showed unsafe conditions.  Perez shares blame for this.

The DNC and states work together.  Remember when there was difficulty counting votes in Iowa?  The DNC came in and took over vote counting.  They oversee the primaries.  It's disturbing to see the effort put forth here to clear them of wrongdoing.

I have seen MANY people share that video and comment on it, including those that have considerably more knowledge of how primaries work than you do.  The CDC set forth guidelines for a reason, and the DNC (and the states) did not follow those and deserve condemnation.

Two thoughts:

1.  Everyone here knows which folks you rely on, and cite here. And their biases and their inaccuracies.

2.  How about actually watching the video and identifying the "offending words" instead of just relying on the comments of your "MANY people"?

Sorry for the all caps -  THAT'S NOT AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT HAPPENED.  PEOPLE IN IOWA HANDLED IT.

Also - IT WAS A CAUCUS.  PARTIES RUN CAUCUSES, NOT PRIMARIES.  THAT'S ONE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM.

So now that Sanders has a big delegate lead the corrupt DNC suddenly wants to shut down the primaries because of CDC policy? The efforts to keep voters away on Super Tuesday couldn’t prevent big wins for Sander so this is all they’ve got — shifting policy from a federal agency spoon-fed by an administration thats licking its chops at the chance to run against Biden instead of Sanders. “Can’t finish the primaries and award the rest of the delegates — let’s leave it to an open convention!” What a crock but anyone could see it coming.

I agree with you somewhat. But I don't want to see the precedent established and reinforced of not holding or deferring elections during pandemics. This can last awhile. It would be upsetting to see the general election not held, to instead have the electoral college appointed by states legislatures.

States need to step up. They should send mail-in ballots to all registered voters. NJ poll workers, many elderly, are required to work from 5 am to 9 pm, one hour break. We may see poll stations unopened due to lack of poll workers. Open stations need to limit occupancy, to attempt to maintain the 6 ft social distance. They also need to manage the waiting lines for those trying to enter.

Setting up a mail-in vote would have been a good solution and would not have prevented elections from happening.  Defying CDC guidelines and forcing people to choose between voting and a potentially deadly health threat is not.  That is what voters were faced with and that's why I called it almost criminal.  Might be more than almost.
