seder dessert

Sudden request by seder hosts! What is your favorite? We're covered on the flourless chocolate cake and I am making macaroons.

Fruit? Matzoh toffee? Please help!

My blender died while trying to make the choc mousse - we're now doing fresh fruit platter with nuts and dark choc pieces. simple easy and fresh. And not too fussy. (28 diners, tonight, 18 tomorrow)

Passover Crack.
Basically carmalized brown sugar, melted chocolate and toasted chopped nuts slathered on matzoh. To die for.

Yes, good name. Actually known by the name matzoh crunch if you're looking for to buy it in the stores - saw it at whole foods. I have the recipe in a word document; let me know if you want it. Also have some easy cookies to make (not like macaroons at all) and a more difficult but delicious Israeli upside down cake made with apples and a type of sponge cake.

This recipe from the NYTimes looks good: http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1016217-matzo-toffee-with-candied-ginger

Just got home: hardly anyone felt hungry enough for main course (salads were left on the plate, mixed veg mainly left in the bowls, roast veg hardly touched, mountains of chicken still on platters. Most people thought the meal was matzah, egg, spreads and soup...one carrot dish was forgotten and no one noticed)
Fruit platters were barely picked at. BUT THE DARK CHOCOLATE CHUNKS DISAPPEARED. H'm. ;-)

matzo toffee in the oven now.

Mine just came out. I topped it with chopped almonds and flaky sea salt!

Beautiful, @judy3x!

I used sea salt and toasted pecans.

Sorry for the wonky picture...

In addition to the matzoh crack, I just made this.
