My blender died while trying to make the choc mousse - we're now doing fresh fruit platter with nuts and dark choc pieces. simple easy and fresh. And not too fussy. (28 diners, tonight, 18 tomorrow)
Passover Crack. Basically carmalized brown sugar, melted chocolate and toasted chopped nuts slathered on matzoh. To die for.
Yes, good name. Actually known by the name matzoh crunch if you're looking for to buy it in the stores - saw it at whole foods. I have the recipe in a word document; let me know if you want it. Also have some easy cookies to make (not like macaroons at all) and a more difficult but delicious Israeli upside down cake made with apples and a type of sponge cake.
Just got home: hardly anyone felt hungry enough for main course (salads were left on the plate, mixed veg mainly left in the bowls, roast veg hardly touched, mountains of chicken still on platters. Most people thought the meal was matzah, egg, spreads and soup...one carrot dish was forgotten and no one noticed) Fruit platters were barely picked at. BUT THE DARK CHOCOLATE CHUNKS DISAPPEARED. H'm. ;-)
Fruit? Matzoh toffee? Please help!
