Post Election Hate Crimes

I still don't know if hate crimes are actually up since November 2016. But the toxic anti-immigrant rhetoric of the Trump campaign is echoed in the beliefs of a man who took 20 lives this weekend.

 I heard/read something interesting recently. Over the last 30 years or so, hate crimes have followed a pattern where they decreased during Repub administrations and increased during Dem admins - implying that the angst of Dems in control make the haters more edgy and prone to acting out.

Except during the Trump admin, that is. They're going up now, pretty obviously because the Prez is giving the haters sustenance and approval.
