OnePlus One...Who's Excited About This Phone??

@scottgreenstone Re:Inbox... I am still on the fence.
1) I only look at it on my phone. 2) I seem to glance at it to see a sort of summary of what has come in and then 3) I run back to regular Gmail to methodically go through the messages.
Not terribly time-saving the way I am using it!

Re: OnePlus One. Can not beat the phone. It's not just a cheap replacement for an iPhone I really think in many ways it is better. It is not perfect , but no phone is. I also hope the company lasts.

The phone cost $364 all in. Completely unlocked. NO CONTRACT. It is the size of an iPhone 6+. It runs all of my Google programs seamlessly plus all those other programs/websites that iPhones refuse to run.

I have been given adoration by the sales folks at AT&T (my most recent rep showed my his own OnePlus One!), Vodaphone rep in England (she was Chinese and told me the whole back story of OnePlus One) and even at the Apple store (guy there said he wants one but is forbidden by store policy.)

I did not know how restricted I had been with my iPhone until I looked at Android. Now I am personalizing this phone to behave exactly as I would like it. It's a breeze. That's the ultimate luxury. So nice!

KMK,

Glad you are enjoying your OPO. It trully is a great phone for the money. The only complaint (short lived) was getting it set up on AT&T's network. Specifically their LTE network.

I took it to the AT&T store!

Today is the "big" day BTW.
No invitations needed for pre-orders!

Well... I have hit quite the snag...

My phone "bricked" last night and is stuck in an "infinite loop" of rebooting. It is completely unusable. I do not know if it is something I did (I dropped it yesterday AND I was having fun fiddling with the settings during evening) or if it is just one of those things.

It appears that it is a known issue for some OPO users and there is a way to fix it but even just reading the steps (found on the online blogs) is scaring the crap out of me - it's like reading a foreign language!

Wish me luck, I am rolling up my sleeves and going in!

KMK. Let me know how you make out? The 38R release this month has affected my phone where the calls are picked up and immediately hangs ups. Looking at the message board (which is a great resource) I found that its a LTE issue with AT&T and they posted a work around.

I have one and I love it. Best phone I've ever had (but typically I am 2 generations behind in phone technology).

@dos_centavos, I was really sweating bullets for a whole day worried about the extreme things I needed to do to fix the phone. At about 9:00AM on Thursday OPO announced a patch. Sadly, the traffic was so great I could not get the patch. At about 2:00PM a fellow message board member got the patch and published a copy. I downloaded it and everything was fixed!

Within 12 hours OPO posted a second patch that would prevent future problems. Once again I downloaded it and my fixed phone is now less likely to "brick" in the future.

I learned so much during the process!

I just came across this website who is giving OnePlus One invites for free: http://www.purevpn.com/oneplusone-invite.php

Invitations no longer needed!  I really love (both) of my UNLOCKED and affordable OnePlus Ones.
