Kilborn reruns.

Can I borrow your TV? Mine won't survive a month of being kicked, stabbed and shot at.

Rumor has it that Bruce Springsteen will be on the show tonight. grin

Remember to DVR the show after - just in case it runs over.

Yes -- It's an hour long show, but the Xfinity DVRs only have it programmed for 50 minutes.

He pretty much assured us last night that it will run over. I only wonder by how much....

Same with FIOS. I have @midnight scheduled anyway (as you all should, I love that show), but if TDS runs over, @midnight will be late, too, so I've just set up to record the rerun of Review.

Aren't they available the next day on the web somewhere? Honestly I have never watched the show on TV, but I've seen many episodes/clips via Facebook.

They're always available the next day on http://thedailyshow.cc.com.

Com. Central is running all Jon Stewart all day today. He's just now did the opening of the 9/11 show

Yes, he made me laugh AND cry."

("The view looking South in Manhattan is now the Statue of Liberty")

LOL

This is the end of a long run of having a place to see hypocrisy and lies punctured with biting humor and often the offending party's own words. I agree Stewart's been coasting for a while, ever before his hiatus. But Colbert only got better. The character who hosted the show, in my humble opinion, is the most cleaver device ever in political satire, allowing the right's selective anger to shown for the diversionary device it is. But what about the left's similar offenses, those who feel picked on always ask. Well the thing is the right has adopted distortion as it's main tactic. To pretend there's anything close to parity is itself a lie.

There's no question Colbert will be himself as host, as he couldn't maintain an audience or the support of any non-cable network. His first commercial where he pals around with Mitt Romney is all the proof needed. It was Colbert who reliably deflated the right's talking points with just enough acid to make it burn. It's been a long time since the same could be said of Stewart, which is why I already miss Colbert.

Before delivering that rant, I was gonna tell folks that the FIOS DVR allows you to add time to the end of the program. I'd think Cablevision's the same. Open up the program and look for options, I think.

I know that, but I'm at work, and I haven't the ability to do this with the My FIOS app. If anyone knows how to I'd be greatly appreciative.

These comments were made for people who automatically record The Daily Show every night. If you have it set to record the series, it will only record either 30 or 50 minutes, according to the program guide, and not the entire show (believe me, I've been burned before when shows ran "late"). We all know we can manually adjust the start/stop times of our recorded programs.

Apologies for assuming folks to be morons! Turns out I'm the one giving wrong info, as you can't adjust a single show recording.

And so it ends. Just not gonna be the same

....sniff ... sniff ... tongue laugh

So I missed it last night and am now catching up online and it is making me want to go back and view past episodes from all 16 years. While I'm sure I'm not up to binge-watching every episode that ever way, is there an archive somewhere with "highlights"? I'd love to see the top dozen or so monologues from each year along with a few full episodes.

Full disclosure - I am a huge fan of Jon Stewart, but I never once watched the show on TV ... just internet clips via Facebook and similar.

sac: Check out the Comedy Central website. I know they were running them in chronological order at some point, and yesterday it was all TDS all day long. I imagine you'd find an archive there. Lots of people probably looking for those today.

ETA: There's a "browse" feature from 1999 on at

I recorded it, but I don't want to watch it yet. If I do, then that means it's really over.

I heard them talking on Sirius XM this afternoon about it and they compared it to the last Seinfeld show -- a letdown. Personally, I found the last two weeks' worth of shows a bit self-serving, so what did y'all think of the final show?

Except for the last act, it seemed more "quiet" than some of the more recent last shows, like Colbert and Letterman (probably better analogies than the end of Seinfeld), but I'm not sure what I would have done differently. I had read a spoiler predicting (accurately) what the last moment would be - probably would have been more exciting if I wasn't expecting it and instead was surprised by it when it happened.

It was a nice tribute to Jon - amazing to see the wealth of talent that was produced by this show. Colbert's speech and the moment of zen were probably the best sendoffs Jon could ask for.

They have been showing highlights of the shows over the past few weeks, so I guess spreading these out may have been a bit easier then trying to cram everything into one night.

Right, not a let down for me. It seemed very like Jon, who can be so humble at times, to spend the show spotlighting and thanking everyone else.

Of course, it could have been two hours long and included clips from some of the best guests and best correspondents' reports and I'd be just as happy. But I've been watching full shows and short clips on Comedy Central and on-line for a while, so I've gotten plenty of that on my own.

I loved the look in his eye when he announced "my own moment of Zen", even though I knew what was coming, too.

Another comparison to Seinfeld ... I'll be getting plenty of laughs out of watching re-runs for years to come.

So where, generally, is this farm in Jersey? (I'm not a groupie or anything.)

A long way from City Gardens

Here's the Colbert moment - the part Jon wasn't expecting starts at 2:50:

MSNBC pre-empted Rachel Maddow last night for a special about Jon Stewart and The Daily Show. I enjoyed this show much more than the final Daily shows. I'm sure they'll run the sprocket holes off it, if it isn't available on the website.
