I'm in my backyard. We live up the hill between Ridgewood and Wyoming close to the border with West Orange.
In the clouds I saw what looked like a fireball going south east. From where I stood it looked like it was over Floods Hill. It was on a slightly downward trajectory then went out.
Someone playing with fireworks?
Meteor flaming out?
Very weird. No sound that I could make out.
I believe it landed just outside Smallville on a farm.

Maybe. Looked pretty low and it looked like it was in or behind a cloud.
I know I saw something.

A reference to how Superman arrived on earth from Krypton.
Sigh. I was hoping maybe someone else caught a glimpse. Maybe swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus. Keep watching the skies.
