Vale, mythbuster Grant Imahara.
Gone way too soon.

49 years old. Such a bright and energetic personality. It doesn't seem possible.

Kelly Preston too. 57. Breast cancer.

John Lewis.

A good life.

I've been wearing my John Lewis T Shirts all summer. Except for Civil Disobedience Necessary Trouble, that's for special occasions. So, yes, today.

One of my favorite John Lewis quotes.

7/17/2020 - Rev. C.T. Vivian

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/17/us/ct-vivian-dead.html

The Rev. C.T. Vivian, an early civil rights organizer and field general for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his Southern Christian Leadership Conference in the historic struggle for racial justice a half-century ago, died on Friday at his home in Atlanta. He was 95.

The Ross in Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, tongue-tripping troubadors of vocalese and “the  hottest new group in jazz.”

Olivia DeHaviland. 104. She really hung in there.

geez. I would've bet 10-1 she was dead already.

“The Heiress” is one of my favorite films ever.

John Saxon, an instantly recognizable actor who was Henry Fonda-like in his ability to play a stand-up guy (good enough for Mary Richards) or someone far more sinister.

And because she deserves a portrait on the main MOL menu ...

From the world of weird coincidences, I was watching Captain Blood the same day Ms DeH passed on.  I rented it a week ago, but watched it Saturday.  Great movie with Errol Flynn, DeHaviland and Basil Rathbone.

Doesn't usually get the love it deserves...

Actually, my favourite track.

Before that, before Fleetwood Mac: hauntingly beautiful "The Supernatural"

Danish pianist and composer, Bent Fabricius-Bjerre, better known internationally as Bent Fabric, has died at the age of 95.

He is probably best known for his 1961 instrumental, 'Alley Cat'.

'Alley Cat' won a Grammy Award for the best Rock and Roll recording of 1962.

All very interesting. I would have guessed that Alley Cat was decades older. And a Grammy for best rock and roll recording? You could’ve knocked me over with a swatch of bent fabric.

Wilford Brimley, played Pop Fisher in “The Natural”. One of my favorite movie characters ever.

Quintessential NY voice, Pete Hamill, 85

Wayne Fontana, only 74.  LOL
