Anyone have experience with euthanasia of your pet in your home?

dear emmie.

Just sending good thoughts and love your way. I lit a candle for Misty tonight, I hope she and you both found peace.

Thank you Calli, I have had a candle burning by her picture right now. so totally going to miss her purring on the bed tonight, we are so sad, am going to post a pic,  soon, , when she was at her prime, this is not the cat in my avatar, that was Pipito, in 2005 , he, has passed away, also.

I, too, am thinking of you emmie, and so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Misty.

Sadly, we are in the same place with our Hoodwink, as she was non-definitively diagnosed with lymphoma, and has been rapidly declining these last few weeks. We're having a hard time letting go, as she's only about 7, and we never expected we'd lose her so young. Your thread has helped me face that we're going to need to make the call very soon.

RIP, Misty, and please hold out a paw for Hoodwink when she joins you on the other side.

Peace to you, emmie.

RIP Misty. You were loved. I am very sorry, Emmie.

I'm so sorry, Emmie. I hope the experience was as peaceful as possible for everyone, especially Misty.

I'm so sorry, Emmie. It's never easy, but it sounds like she had a great life with you. And Beppolina, so sorry for you loss, too. LOL

Jasper, I'm so sorry to hear about Hoodwink! I know how hard it is to love an animal and lose it LONG before its time. We had Sasha for four wonderful years, and it broke our hearts when she died from a heart condition at such a young age.

Sending virtual peace and hugs to all of you.

I know how hard it is to say goodbye to a loved pet that's shared your life and heart. My condolences to those who've recently gone through this. If we didn't love them so much, the hurt wouldn't be as intense. Wishing them all happiness across the Bridge.

Here is how I came about to find Misty. The night after Thanksgiving in 1997, I was walking my blind cocker spaniel, Emmie Lou, it was raining and I was carrying an umbrella. I kept hearing this tiny, weak meowing, I'm thinking, what the heck?? I looked down and there right near my feet was the littlest kitten I had ever seen, I scooped her up in one hand, she was that small, managing at the same time to hold the umbrella and dog leash and brought her home. She must have been thrown out of a litter, and couldn't be more than a couple of weeks old. Emmie Lou became her new mom and they always snuggled on he bed together, Emmie Lou was constantly nurturing my new Misty girl, and the rest is history.

Dr. Barnes and her assistant were wonderful and had all the lovely qualities stated in the posts on the thread. There is a huge hole in our hearts this morning, Misty's presence is very much missed. Thanks to all of you for your very kind and supportive words. I am going to attempt to post Misty's picture here, hope it works.

.Rest in peace girl!

emmie, such a beautiful girl.  Deepest sympathy to you in your time of grief.  Happy memories of her will bring smiles.

@emmie  What a beautiful story of how your life became intertwined with Misty's life!  Thank you for sharing.  She was a gorgeous cat and what a lovely home you provided for her during her journey here on Earth.  Wishing you solace today as you mourn the passing of your four legged family member.  I'm comforted to hear that Dr. Barnes was able to give Misty the experience of a peaceful passing as she has done for so many of our MOL pets over the years.  Our pets are with us for such a short time and yet make such a tremendous impact on our lives don't they?

She was a beauty. Oh it is so sad to lose a loved one. May  memories of her bring you peace.

Thanks, Peggy, and what a sweet story and beautiful girl, emmie. She picked you out and knew you'd love and protect her. And you did.

So sorry emmie, you have our sympathy. .Having pets and having gone through this, I know how difficult this is.

Be consoled in that you gave Misty a good, long and happy life.

Such a beautiful, noble cat.  RIP.

Thank you all again for your very heartfelt comments.

I'm so sorry, Emile. They're never with us long enough.
