Yucatan All-Inclusive: any advice?

I'm contemplating a vacation at an all-inclusive resort in the Yucatan area (Cancun, Riviera Maya, Isla Mujeres, etc.). Perhaps, sometime in the 1st half of November.

I've vacationed there twice before but not lately.

Anyone done this lately and have any tips, recommendations on how or thru whom to book, particular resorts to consider or avoid?

Looking for good food, a clean place, lovely beaches, clean, fun pool, near shopping and local sights, etc. The usual. Also would like an international clientele rather than all guests from the American Midwest, as I once experienced. (Don't ask.).

TIA

Apple Vacations is usually my go-to for booking packages to the Riveria Maya.  They have a pretty extensive inventory of all inclusive resorts and offer air+hotel+transfer packages.  http://www.applevacations.com/

I'm big on the AI resorts, but we did one in Playa, and i have to say, it was amazing. Very high-end, with surprisingly good food. Paradisus Esmeralda. Check it out.

On the map it looks like it's very close to Playa del Carmen, which if I recall correctly is a big shopping destination. ¿Si?

It's about a 15 minute ride from PDC. The location is really great—it's very secluded, and the resort actually has two-in-one. One side is strictly adults only, the other is for families. Both are very nice, and very high-end, kind of like a W, if you like that sort of thing. What we liked about it, was that the food, was actually decent—rare for an AI resort. The service was amazing. If you're going as a family, they have a "concierge" added service which is really nice. Your room is in a totally separate area, and you get some extra perks.

PDC is a nice little area to walk around in, even tough it's touristy. Tellum is also really cool, a bit further south, but still easily accessible. Xerat is an eco-park that is absolutely amazing and worth spending the entire day at.

Hope this helps!
