I just learned that Essex County puts out a senior citizen publication for seniors 60 and above called the Essex Advisor.  Copies of the October 16, 2018 edition are currently available at the front desk at the DeHart Community Center.  Stop by and pick up a copy if you would like to read through it.

ETA:  This issue features pictures from Ceal Farley's 105th birthday party at the Maplewood Senior Center.

AARP has just approved admitting Maplewood and South Orange to their international network of age friendly cities.  This is a big deal which is being celebrated at an AARP reception on Wednesday, Oct 3 at 10:30 am at the Woodland.  Please come and invite everyone you know to join us!

According to Cathy Rowe, the Bronx Botanical Gardens trip originally scheduled for October 3rd has been canceled because too few persons signed up to make the trip feasible.

I just read on Village Green that the Township of Maplewood will have flu shot clinics on October 24 and October 27.  I will post additional details when I get them.

Asking for a friend:  What time should Senior Art students be at the community center for the Newark Museum trip today?  Or is it already in progress?  No one is answering at the CC or Rec Dept apparently.

11:30 am.  Michelle was at this morning's AARP celebration (Maplewood and South Orange were recognized as age friendly cities).  I just got back from there.  I assume Michelle left about when I did.  Senior Studio is supported by the town but run by a not for profit.  Dan Kaslow would be the contact person for questions related to the Senior Studio program.
