Which restaurants are still open (SOMA only please)

Are the two liquor stores in Maplewood Village taking pick-up orders?

I see Cassidy has closed after giving the pickup/delivery thing a try. Tratt in SO closed last week, also after being pickup/delivery only for a few days.

I read an article in the last day or two (I think it was NYT) about NYC restos closing. Apparently the economics of p/d only are poor, and of course there are safety concerns for the employees.

I got an email that Tito's Burritos is open.

I guess the pre-existing balance of takeout/delivery to dine-in will have a lot to do with how badly a restaurant is affected. Tito's did a pretty good takeout business before all this. I don't know what perecentage the dine-in business was.

A sit-down restaurant trying to pivot to takeout/delivery seems like a big challenge. Especially if they're not equipped for online ordering. I don't remember the last time I called a restaurant and gave my credit card info over the phone.

Pickett's Village Bar is still open for takeout and curbside pickup.   4-8 pm.  Serving pizza, wings, family meals, half priced bottles of wine and growlers of your favorite beer on tap.   Call 973-313-1100 after 330 pm to place your order.    Thank you for your business and support during this challenging time.

As of March 20, what is open?  I want to support local businesses as much as possible (plus we love takeout).

Arturo's

Lorena's

According to the Village Green, the Trattoria and other places will be closing soon (or have closed)

Closed - Palmer's, the Able Baker

A number of places need to update their websites.

Town Hall Deli is open for both pickup and delivery.

Bunny’s Sports Bar will be open today thru Sunday for free delivery, take-out, and curbside pickup.  Full menu! Fully stocked beer and wine options!

Open from 2 pm to 8 pm!

Call @ 973-763-1377.

Freetown Kitchen doesn’t appear on the daily Springfield Avenue Partnership list, but it’s open. Ordered from there for the first time tonight, and it’s mighty tasty.

Toro loco is doing takeout and delivery.

I'm wondering about the Wine Barrel on Prospect/Spgfld Ave, or either one on Valley?

On a different topic, had a tasty dinner we picked up from Walia this week. (Although the online menu is not the easiest to read). http://waliarestaurant.com/menu/

Email from the Wine Barrel today:

Good morning patrons,

We hope that this email finds you all in good spirits and better health. We are reaching out today to inform all of our customers of what is going on at the Wine Barrel Maplewood on a daily basis and how this affects our servicing you all.

First, as a large blanketed statement, we are currently under staffed. Though we are open 6 days a week (11AM to 6 PM) to service the community, we ask for your patience. Whether you're coming to the store to be serviced at the walk up window, requesting over-the-phone curb-side pick up, or emailing for our biweekly delivery, we please ask for your patience. There are only so many people (most likely 2 per day) here to facilitate your requests.

We would like to inform those who don't know that we are operating from the old Bank teller walk up window. Many have seen us here and are familiar with how things have been working over the past week or so. But for those still unaware, THIS IS OUR PREFERRED WAY OF SERVICING. This is the best way for us to expedite your orders. We can help you more quickly from the window than over the phone or via email.

Next we would like to stress that we only have ONE phone line. If the phone line is busy that is the only way to get in touch with us. Again we ask for your patience. We try to only service over the phone orders when we do not have people waiting outside of the store for their own service. This goes for online ordering as well.

Please understand that everyone is being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, we would like to back the mandate of the state and insist that people buy in bulk. For example, instead of buying a bottle of wine or two every other day we would ask if you would consider buying a few bottles or a case. This will cut down the crowds and keep our environment safe.

Thank you all. We wouldn’t be here with out your overwhelming support and positivity. We look forward to many more years in the community.

Thanks @DaveSchmidt

Do you know the day of the week they are closed?

Also, if I order online now, would I go to their walkup window with a printout of the order sometime the next business day?

La Villa on Irvington Ave reopened for takeout, I believe only Fri/Sat/Sun if I understood the announcement I saw.

 Closed Sunday.

We ordered delivery from both Maplewood Pizza and Cactus Charly last week. From walking around I’ve noticed Village Coffee, Bagel Chateau, and Sabatino’s open for takeout.

is there any chinese delivery available?  we tried Tung Tin no answer (don't know how good they are, never tried them before), also china garden no answer.

We just spoke to friends and it sounds like most of the Chinese places around SOMA are closed or not answering the phone.

Pickett's is doing pick-up from 4-8 p.m.

Must call ahead to order.

Had La Villa last night.  Great dinner and very reasonably priced for a family meal.  Hope this new business survives the pandemic downturn.

Palmer's Sweetery in Maplewood village isn't fully closed, they do pick-ups from a limited menu on Sundays

Stopped at BuyRite today and saw a sign saying they’re delivery only. If others are like me and rarely know what they want until they get inside, Bottle Crown in the Millburn Mall is still walk-in.

I picked up breakfast from the Parkwood this morning. Ordered by phone, gave them my credit card number and picked it up from a table in the back with no human contact. And yeah, it was delicious and there was a ton of it.

We were all ready to order from Freetown but the phone just rang and rang. Anyone know what’s up?

Happy to hear that they've changed the model.

Wawa Closed. Anyone know any information? Entrances blocked and caution tape around the pumps yesterday and today.

 What was the model before?

Even Lucky Fortune in downtown SO? I thought nothing stopped that guy. I've seen him making deliveries on his bike in a blizzard.

Go inside and wait with people, pay with a credit card by swiping it a foot in front of the register and being handed the receipt to sign.
