where to find bluestone / slate slabs

Suggestions appreciated!  I've already tried the place one Rt 22 across from JMK (no service so I had to leave) and Maplewood nursery near Home Depot, which is out of it.

Orange Garden Supply in Orange (near the end of Scotland Road) has several hundred old blue stones. Be forewarned they are expensive and the price quoted may not include delivery.

I'd try Rt. 22 again:  they had prices that were way less than other estimates that I got, and they did a nice installation, too.

Last year I got a bunch of it on craigslist.  People rip out stuff and then are desperate to get rid of it.

Boychuk is the stone yard on 22. They are the best in the area. Sometimes service is slow but the wait is worth it. Great prices and they deliver.

Try the place on 22 again. After you look around, walk into the grungy little office and tell them what you want. Yeah "service" is a little funky but I've been there several times with good results of getting what I wanted.

Do they have aged/reclaimed bluestone or limestone?  We may be in the market soon and don't want anything with a fine edge or surface...more rounded, to look like it's been there 50 years once it's installed.  What I've seen is primarily geared for indoor, but it's not at all cheap and a waste of money to use outdoors IMO.

Orange Garden has reclaimed bluestone.

Thanks.  Will check them out when I'm back for shrubs.

The aged stone is usually more expensive than new.  Went to a place that was selling old NYC sidewalks, beautiful stuff but an absolute fortune.

I think Orange Garden has the sidewalks.  One was approx. $2 or 3,000.

Wait.... one piece??  Even the limestone I saw (brought in from France no less) wasn't that expensive.

OGC was approx $50 sq.ft. Nice, thick standard ex-sidewalk slabs. Might work. Thanks for the info.

Thx all. I actually found what I needed at the nursery near Home Depot.

Congdon Lumber was also had a lot --17 Park Ave in W.O.
