I was also going to suggest Karako suits on Rt 22 - if they don't have what you want - try Men's Warehouse as well - they have boys suits in all sizes - we just ended up buying a black suit and adding tuxedo touches like shirt, cummerbund, bow-tie. Men's Warehouse often has buy one get one free.

Kids grow so fast. Why not rent them?
Any suggestions where? I'd be just as happy to do that
Struck out at Karako. They didn't sell any small enough, and the rentals started around size 3 so too big for the baby.
Men's Warehouse didn't seem to have any in baby size either.
Found this link online - looks like they have them from newborn through bigger' sizes: http://classicbabytux.com/clbatuxstsi.html
I've never used them myself, though - just passing this along to you.
Consider Amazon and ebay. A quick look on ebay;

ETA: Missed you want to try them in person.
Don't focus on them matching. If they are both black and they wear the same bow tie, no one will be able to tell that they aren't the same exact tuxedo.
Syms used to be great for kids suites/ tuxedos- cheaper than renting. Does Syms still exist?
I highly recommend Top Hats and Tails on Springfield Ave in Maplewood for either renting or buying. We're renting tuxes from them for our wedding, and have had a wonderful experience so far (adults and kids).
A few years ago I had to find a white suit for my then 3 yr old son's Christening. There was a store in Jersey Gardens( or whatever the name of the mall is now) that had lots of fancy suits, tuxes and dresses for little ones. I couldn't order something online since I had no idea what size to get. Shoes I got online since they had to be white. Good luck!
I'm pretty sure this is the store at Jersey Gardens:

does short hills mall have any type of personal shopper service...maybe call up their customer service and ask if any of their stores had them..
maybe also the Westfield shopping mall near exit 160 of the parking...or the shops at riverside in paramus i think
Target has Tuxedo's in your sizes online, perhaps some stores also have them. http://www.target.com/p/tevolio-toddler-boys-5-piece-tuxedo-black/-/A-16167439#prodSlot=medium_1_3&tempterm=children+tuxedo
Thanks! I went the online route first. I bought one on Amazon that didn't work (way too big) and I don't want to keep losing money on return shipping Ebay is a no-go since I won't be able to return- even though usually I'm a big fan (my own wedding dress was from ebay!). But I've realized there is NO consistency with these sizes!!
I actually ordered the Target ones and they were too big on both boys. I've ordered them again in new sizes but I wanted an in-person backup as well. The wedding's in a week! Since both kids are growing like weeds I wanted to wait to buy them but since none of my options are panning out I have clearly waited a little too long...
Thanks for all of these ideas!!
try sams men's store in Livingston.
I think they still have a boys dept.
call to confirm

Try David's Formal Wear in Springfield, near the DMV. David is great - I used him to rent matching tuxedos for me and my 8-year old son. One week may be short notice, but it might be worth giving him a call.

Colemans Tux in Millburn helped me two years ago measure both my guys (3 & 5) for tuxes - they may be able to help. Although it was not cheap! Good luck.
Thanks!! The ones I ordered from Target have been shipped, so I'm keeping a close eye on that It seems like the baby is the harder one to fit. Buy Buy Baby has one for him so I may try to scoot over there this week... all of these options are great for the 5 year old!!
Does it have to be a tuxedo? Not a vest-shirt-tie-pants combo?
Have you tried Sears? Or JC Penney?
Did you try Zappo's? They have clothing as well as shoes, and they have that wonderful shipping/returns policy... you could order several sizes to be safe and return the ones that don't work.
Do tux rental places have children's sizes that run that small? I would be reluctant to spend a fair amount of money on something they will only wear once and outgrow by next week.
Oo!! I might have been on to something with zappo's:
http://www.zappos.com/boys-clothing~1e#!/boys-clothing/CKvXAToC7xPAAQTiAgMBGAc.zso?s=goliveRecentSalesStyle/desc/
The rental places don't seem to have tuxes small enough for the baby, and honestly it's almost as much as just buying! At least if I buy I might be able to resell on Ebay or something.
Thanks for the Zappos link! I honestly didn't even realize they sold clothes. But those are more expensive than I'd like... most of the ones I'm finding are under $100. But you reminded me that I also will need shoes for my son... he outgrew his black ones!! Oy.
I noticed several of those retailers on Zappo's sell toddlers' sizes in the formal wear, so I hope something will work out there.
Sorry they are so expensive. Kind of a crock, considering how little fabric is involved. I guess it is the same amount of labor to create those pieces for tiny humans as it is for adults.
No chance you can go the easy route with shirt/tie/dress pants/nice shoes?
No, I definitely need a jacket. A black suit would be fine too, so I've been on the lookout for that. I don't think the vest is all that important but my son was pretty psyched about it when we tried one on.
That's pretty cute, that he was excited about the vest. My nephew (21 and about to graduate from college) wears a vest as often as he can. So does his father. Very snazzy.
I can't imagine renting the whole shebang (tux, bow tie, cummerbund, shoes) wouldn't be cheaper than buying. Second the reco for the folks on SA if you haven't already been.
@ctrzaska the ones I've ordered from Target and Amazon have been about $50 - $60 (Buy Buy Baby is about that for the baby's as well). Top Hat and Tails rentals start at $79; they didn't have either size in stock to purchase. Men's Warehouse was around $69 for the rental I think. But none of the rental options are for babies anyway.
I'm in need of two tuxedos for my kids, for my sister's wedding. I've now bought and returned two online so at this point I just need to find them in person. The problem is I need two that match (9-12 months and 4/5t) so thrift and consignment stores aren't likely to work. Any suggestions??
