What's Up with Kanye?

It appears he's going off the deep end, claiming he's $53 million in debt and asking Zuckerberg to invest $1 billion in "Kanye West ideas".

he was so terrible on SNL the other night, I actually thought it was some sort of spoof/skit. Apparently his clothing line has been bleeding money since the beginning so it's wuite possible he's run out.

Not really, but if he's been keeping his clothing line afloat with his own money, he's crazier than I thought.

This, for sure, totally arrogant jerk, deserves every problem he has!

I don't always "get" Kanye but he's not the first arrogant jerk in the music industry...

If his wife is still with him then it's not true.

No, but he does it better than most

I'm sure Kim and Kanye have a gigantic prenuptial agreement in place. I would expect no less from Kim's mother.

why would Kim have wanted a prenup with Kanye? At the time, he was probably worth 10x over what she was. Now, if this nonsense is to be believed, that may have shifted recently with her game take off and his clothing line failure.

There is so much better hip hop out there.

I think he is a giant, egotistical ass, who seems to be heading for a mental breakdown.  I hope he has someone taking care of his mental health.

I'm sure that protecting her own money is insufficient, he must also support her lifestyle.

He always seemed like a narcissistic trainwreck to me, but I avoid him on the internet so I might not know enough to judge.  I've never listened to his music or seen his clothing design. These self-promoting Renaissance geniuses rarely do it for me.

Oh, if only they WERE Renaissance geniuses... Things would be so much more interesting. What we have instead is a pack of dabblers, all "jack of all trades, master of none" types. Mediocrity abounds.

I don't know. I've seen plenty of mediocre and/or arrogant performers absolutely glorified on MOL.

I'm not a Kanye West or Kim Kardashian fan, but I can understand their supposed financial issues (taking for granted that his tweet about being in debt is true).  To make money they need to stay relevant, to stay relevant they need to also portray a certain lifestyle, to portray that lifestyle they have to spend money.  Would the Kardashians have anywhere near as many followers and sponsors if they wore $100 outfits and $200 shoes and lived in a home decorated in early Ikea?  Probably not.

I hope his financial peril doesn't resort to selling images of his scantily clad wife.  That would be......unfortunate.........

think that's already been done. And more than scantily. Her choice....

Yeah, I meant to put Renaissance in quotes. grin

Yes, and this is supposed to be our role model for living?  So many people seem to admire them and want to "Keep up with the Kardashians."  Turns out even they can't keep it up.

To paraphrase Dolly Parton, I didn't know it cost that much to look so cheap.

Kanye strikes me as being very insecure. He always has to proclaim how great he is and his album is the best and feels the need to tear other artists down. He fails to understand that praise of yourself is meaningless; that is best left to others. What's the old adage? Well done is better than well said.

Colbert had a real good send up of Kanye last night.

This strategy seems to be working well for Donald Trump.  Maybe Kanye should run as a Republican for POTUS?

I saw one of his rants where he compared himself to Warhol and Disney and Shakespeare and I had the same thought. It was reminiscent of Charlie Sheen going off the deep end a couple of years back.
