Ultimate Frisbee: Middle School League and Adult pick-up games

Maplewood, the birthplace of Ultimate Frisbee, has recreation programs for Middle Schoolers ("Hometown Ultimate"), and for adults over 30 years old ("Adultimate"):

Hometown Ultimate- Middle School Coed Intramural League:

**All players must register by this Thurs Sept 7th for Tryouts**

This program is for boys and girls in grades 6-8 who are interested in learning to play Ultimate Frisbee, from fundamental skills to intermediate strategies.

Ultimate promotes mutual respect among players, and the basic joy of sport. It is a team sport that encourages sportsmanship and athleticism by combining the aerial passing skills found in football, the quick transitions from offense to defense found in basketball, and the running and cutting of soccer, while using a regulation Ultimate disc (frisbee) and emphasizing fair play.

No experience is needed to try out (many in the league never played before, or even threw a frisbee). Priority will be given to those who demonstrate a willingness to learn, can take direction, demonstrate good sportsmanship (spirit of the game), and can commit to attend at least 9 of the 10 weeks of the regular season.

Tryout dates:

  • Saturday, September 9th (All new players) at Memorial Park (across from Town Hall) from 12:45 to 3:15pm
  • And Sunday, September 10th (All new and previous players at Maplecrest Park from 12:45 to 3:15pm.
