Traveling from Newark Airport to LaGuardia

our adult so is flying out of LaGuardia Friday afternoon. Driving him there is an option, but that airport is such a mess. I understand there is a shuttle from Newark. Has anyone ever taken it?  Is it a feasible option?  What does it really entail?  TIA

.

(oops, that was JFK)

It is possible to make an inexpensive connection that involves little roadway travel via Penn Station, works best if he doesn't have too much luggage.

1. NJT to Penn. Exit at the rear (Eighth Ave. end) of the NJT train, go up one level and buy a ticket for the next LIRR train (10 minutes travel time) to Woodside. (The Port Jefferson, Port Washington, Babylon, Montauk lines stop there.)

2. At Woodside, follow the signs to cross the street to a Laguardia Link bus to LGA (20 minutes not including wait for boarding). The bus stops at Terminals BCD. Or you can Uber from Woodside.

(The E subway is an even less expensive option to get from Penn to the Laguardia Link bus, but it takes a little longer and involves more flights of stairs.)

Way easier than it sounds, once you get the hang of buying an LIRR ticket.

There used to be a direct bus from EWR to JFK, so possibly also to LaGuardia?  It was very easy, just get on and ride.  However, this was probably 15 years ago, and JFK.  I don't have current info, but the EWR/Port Authority website might say.

La Guardia is to be avoided at all costs.

I know. The flight must have been incredibly cheap. We’ve been helpful in the past and gone to Newark and JFK but even my kind husband is balking at LaGuardia. Ugh!

While it sucks as an airport, driving to LGA isn’t all that much different from driving to JFK. What time of the day?

oh, I see Friday afternoon. Yuck. I vote he gets into the city or Queens via train and then just Uber from there.
