The corner slice

Finally, the Corner Slice is having a soft opening 2/1/25. According to their Instagram page they open at 12pm and close at 4pm  will only take walk in orders.

I'm seeing that they are open from 12-9 (or until they run out of dough) Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for the soft opening.  Hoping for great success for them and the neighborhood.

I was there at 12 today. Well, I was there a little earlier so I could get in (almost) as soon as they opened. They were only serving slices, no whole pies today, and I have to say it was one of the best damn two slices I've ever had - I had a pepperoni and a garbage slice, which had sliced jalapenos and just about everything else on it, and they were delicious - but the Sicilian style crust is crispy on the outside and yet melts in the mouth. I don't know how they do it, but thank god it's not around the corner from my house or I'd be in there every day.

Had it last night.  Picked up in mid afternoon and warmed up at home for dinner, figuring it would be nuts there closer to dinner.   Excellent pizza.

It's near Artie's but not sure it can hurt it much.  Artie's is more of a big pleasant sit down place.  The Corner slice is small.  Will fill up quickly and not put much of a dent in Arties' sit down crowd. I like Artie's a lot but don't think of it as a take out spot for me.

I think they’re friends with Artie’s. I would suggest that anyone going to get your car serviced across the street to just step across the street and grab a slice… or two. I am happy to see that area coming back to life since the bread stand moved in there. Yeah, that pizza is very good.

I was there earlier - long line at opening - but it did move along pretty quickly.

The most unique feature was their bottom crust which give it a satisfying crunch in every bite - almost like they toasted the bottom.

I'll be back.

Ahh this sign gives a clue as to how they achieve the crust.

boy do I miss NJ pizza out here in OH. I've found one pizzeria that has good, tasty pizzas, but they're just not NJ good.

Just went tonight and it was definitely yummy! Crust is expecially good as others have mention, but the toppings are great also! We didn't have to wait long and got a table (at about 7:00pm.)

Okay. I'm at a disadvantage here because I just like to THINK I STILL live in the Village, but I actually put my head down to sleep in East Orange.  And all parts of town change so rapidly now, I just can't keep up.  Can someone clue me in to the location of this place? MUST BE downtown if it's close to Artie's, but I need more SPECIFICS to go on -- especially Opening Week.

I'm still likely to be found treating myself to a coupla slices at Roman Gourmet, and it's a "must" stop whenever my son's in from the West Coast, or with my daughter who's now fulfilling a dream of moving BACK to Maplewood.

I trust Sac's opinion implicitly RE: pizza crusts & toppings, so I want a chance to try this place ASAP.

NO shortage of fast food/pizza options over here, but it's NOT Roman Gourmet, it's Dominos or Papa Johns. I'm particularly willing to travel for crispy crusts & tasty toppings.  Please tell me the quickest way to get some.  TIA.

The Corner Slice is in Lightning Brook in the former Bread Stand location.  Arties has moved from the Village is is now located near DPW.
