Sloppy Joe Update
You know, I've passed Fairchild Market a zillion times, but I've never been in. Is it worth the trip?
The food's fine, there's plenty of seating, and there's more: a wide assortment of food and non-food gift items (& wines!) are available there. I can't honestly say that the Joes are as good as THD's, but the menu has lots to offer. Bottom line: It's worth the trip...

For those old enough to remember Jack & Ronnie, the previous owners of Town Hall Deli: Jack still works at THD (part-time), turning out Joes the way they're supposed to be made. A few years back, his ex-partner Ronnie (7 years his junior) started running the deli counter at Fairchild's Market in Roseland, assuring that (along with some of my favorite old Pals' Cabin menu items) one can also buy THD-style Sloppy Joes there... Now, they don't come in cake boxes like THD's, and they are not quite as robust, but they are Joes nonetheless. Both guys are well, and still liking their work.
