Seth Boyden Inquiry

Has anyone received their child's welcome letter with school supply list attached? (For Seth Boyden Students)

The only thing I have received so far is a letter inviting new families to a picnic.

Go to the picnic.  You and your kid will be glad you did.  Seriously.  Mine is 21 now and I remember those early days at Seth Boyden with great fondness.

If there are new staff in your childrens' classrooms they may not have their final assignments yet.  I imagine there is still a SB PTA website?  Or a PTA forum/link on the school's site?  You may be able to find some info there that would be of use.  Usually there is a generic list for each grade at the school, I believe, tho some indiv teachers may modify it slightly.

I checked the site for a generic list just to get an idea... Nothing.. We will just wait and see, I just know our letter came late last year and we had to basically pick through leftovers at Target... Miss the days when you just needed a 3 subject notebook, pens, notecards and covers for your textbooks

I was able to find a generic school supply list for Seth Boyden, but it was kind of hidden in a way that would have made Douglass Adams proud. I'll see if I can find it later and will try to paste the link

Was there a "Beware of the Leopard" sign?

This year there are no supply lists for multi-age - 5th grade. Mr. Frye sent a letter saying to purchase 1 12 count box of black chisel tip markers and 1 12 count of assorted colored chisel tip markers (dry erase markers). He also said teachers may ask for 1 or 2 items when you get placement letter, but that's it. K will receive list in separate letter.

These appear to be old and may be out of date. Has anyone asked the PTA?

Everything on the website was old and out of date.  And the link for drop off instructions leads to a page that is no longer available.

I am with the PTA. The lists on website are for previous years. What I posted above is what was requested. I can ask if they plan to have a list for Kindergarten (if that's what you're looking for).

Thanks. Are these all supposed to be the large chisel-tip dry erase markers, that are for white boards?

Yes, for white boards. They have a small picture of Expo markers on the letter that looks like this exact one here- https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00006JNJT/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1503540745&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=expo+chisel+tip+12+count&dpPl=1&dpID=51k26G38aFL&ref=plSrch

Oh wow ... that's priceless!
