Ugh - sorry everyone. Should be fine for now - if you're interested:
Upon further research "The PDU the server is connected to is failing" which indicates that the Power Distribution Unit (PDU) to which the server is connected is experiencing problems or malfunctions.
A PDU is a device used to distribute electric power to multiple devices within a data center, server room, or any other IT infrastructure. It acts as a central hub for power distribution, providing electricity to various servers, networking equipment, and other devices.
When the PDU is failing, it means that there is an issue with its functionality, which can result in a loss of power supply to the connected server. This could lead to the server going offline, causing downtime and potential data loss or service interruptions.
My server guys replaced the PDU and we're back up and running!

time to go serverless?
Maybe if you paid the server a living wage instead of relying on tips!
Oh, wait...
Couldn't access the site all day and now it looks like this.
ETA: Screen shot won't post but basically all images are replaced with question marks. I am in the US today so I don't think it is a Canada thing.
Further ETA: I see this is addressed on another thread and the whole thing just reminds me to thank Jamie for all the work he puts into keeping this place going.
Assuming we are back. I just got in with no warnings.
Jamie: Thank you so much for the long and hard work that made this possible.

Thanks it's tricky to get into the deets for what happened - still need to get the images working - hopefully I can figure this one out today. If not - programmer's will be avaailable on Monday next. I have a few ideas.
I don’t know if it’s related, but the Twitter widget wasn’t working for me. The tweet looks fine in the preview but ends up like this when I post:
how the pirates game ended yesterday
Link to the embed code, if you want to backstop me.
Here's the workaround. Not sure if I'll get a better fix in the near future - the editor is a third party script - so it's a little trickier to modify.
I’m not sure where to post this. When I clicked on Apollo’s 99% thread title it opened up an archived thread from 2006. Weird seeing names I haven’t spotted in years.
Anyway, I think the link got misrouted somehow.
Weird - I re-posted it - may of had an issue with the % in the title. Will need to do some testing.
Apollo's comment never showed on the 2006 thread even though the thread showed as having one new comment having been made very recently to a thread for which comments had been turned off years ago. It now shows as a new thread with Apollo as the OP,
I couldn't access a lot of the site yesterday, my time.
Unfortunately, didn't think/remember to get a screen grab.
Very slow loading most of the day today. No pressure/rush - just so you know.
This is using Firefox on Windows in Wisconsin, via Spectrum (sort of sounds like Clue?)
eta: No sooner posted than fixed? Doing fine now.
yeah, it's been very sluggish, intermittently, throughout the day.
