Sarah Sanders is absolutely the worst.

@mtierney, again: Do you like Donald Trump?

Come on now.  When your boss is known as the biggest liar in the history of the Presidency.........and it is

your job to interpret his statements and make them palatable to the electorate...........what do you expect

to hear from her but lies defending lies.  She speaks on a higher level than him.......even if she did not

attend Wharton...........but she still lies, lies, and lies.  And she gives as good as she gets?  One lie

is easily offset by the truth.  The Big Lie does not work here

I really like our press secretary who presents a no-nonsense, direct report of the DC day. Standing up to the majority liberal press anxious to box her in or get a gotcha moment would be daunting for anyone. She does not suffer fools gladly — and gives as good as she gets.

You do realize that it's the media's job to be skeptical, to question, to challenge and to hold power accountable, don't you?  The press corp is not there to take down minutes.

No, she does not understand.

Wrong about me, as usual.

The press conferences of past years were not so tightly packed — economy coach seating —  most likely due to more reporters from more news outlets than before. There is no civility in the room. Seating cheek to jowl and knees to chest, the raising of arms and rude calling out questions add to the mob mentality perhaps. I think the WH needs a bigger room and decorum lessons. Sarah Sanders is to be complimented for her composure.

I have the advantage/disadvantage of watching the press conferences LIVE as I am at home, a lot.

how would you know about "press conferences of past years" ? I can't imagine you sitting through too many Obama press conferences.

C'mon, tell us what media host came up with that argument.

They've always been crowded. And they are not press conferences. They are press briefings.

I will try to not judge all Evangelical Christians by the rhetoric and actions of Pence, Sanders or those others and I will hope that Evangelical Christians will not judge all Muslims by the actions of Osama Bin Laden.

I judge the vast majority of them by their leaders, the heads of their faith. The very many who praise Trump & Co. and their many followers who hallelujah along.

For, they are the vast majority of Evangelicals.

Well I'll try to judge them by Jimmy Carter, or, at least, keep an open mind.

I did say vast majority. Carter, is now, an exception. One of the very few.

Jimmy Carter’s improbable ascent to the presidency was abetted by his probity—“I will never knowingly lie to the American people”—and by a brief resurgence of progressive evangelicalism in the early 1970s. His shattering defeat four years later, however, signaled the demise of progressive evangelicalism in favor of a radically different understanding of the faith articulated by leaders of the Religious Right.

We are not discussing “crowded” — jam-packed more accurate.

I watched press secretary Dana Parino control these events during the Bush administration and BHO had Robert Gibbs, and another man (name escapes me)who made SNL famous.

if she was the press secretary to a Democrat, you'd be slamming her as shifty and untrustworthy.  Your partisanship is stunningly transparent.

the daily press briefings are on live in my office every day.  I see something completely different than what you're seeing.

I'm mulling over the phrase " she doesn't suffer fools gladly" and considering her employer.

I think she meant she does not chauffeur fools gladly.  She has them take Uber

I'm an Obama-loving Democrat and MY partisanship is pretty transparent, too. Don't think that Republicans are the only ones that manifest blindered partisanship. Maybe you don't mean partisanship. Maybe you mean closed-mindedness. Or stubbornness. Or bigotry. Or bias, prejudice, or discrimination.

no, partisanship. Read her descriptions of Democratic women and Republican women and note the differences.

Sarah represents the worst of this crowd. Trump is Trump. Ain't gonna change at age 72. But the hypocritical Bible-thumpers and greedy bastards in the staff and Congress continue to enable his lies and deceit. If you're ever wondering how dictators establish support, I imagine it's kinda like the GOP.

The difference, as I tried to point out, is demonstrated by the original post and subsequent posts in the Rose Garden thread.  Mtierney praises Sarah for being combative with the Press while condemning Obama and Susan Rice for doing the same.

Yup.

If there's anyone in this regime I'd want to sit down and have a cup of coffee with, it'd be Sarah Sanders. I'd love to know what makes her tick. I'd love to engage her Socratically.

That is entirely on Trumpty Dumpty who has packed the press pool with a dumpster full of far right web "correspondents".  The size of the room is fine, they just need to take out the trash.

So Sanders is just lying to a bunch of far right web "correspondents" ?  Since you're a FOX news watcher it must get pretty boring.

No, the trash is extra.  That's why the room is so packed.

As Jay Rosen, New York University journalism professor says "press briefings are so devoid of substance, so predictably filled with lies, that they aren’t a valid use of top reporters’ time".  In other words fill the room with trash.

There are some truly Christian people out there who identify as Evangelical.  There's a specific subculture and type of Evangelicals who engage in the rhetoric of hatred and repression of anyone unlike them.  Please don't lump all Evangelicals in to the same group as Pence and Sanders.

I think the worst examples of many kinds of people are the ones who get a lot of press.

Almost all then. The subculture you described is the main culture. A vast majority of Evangelicals heartily support Trump.

Several weeks ago, I've watched an Evangelical on TV. He praised God or the Lord Jesus (I forget which) for putting Trump on the Throne of America, followed by joyful shouts of agreement.

So, where are the "decent" Evangelicals decrying this beast slouching over the White House? They are so very quiet. Where are they?

ps - Evangelicals were pretty loud blaming natural disasters on Obama when he was president. God's punishment because we elected the godless.

We now have the Evangelicals braying over Trumps ascension. Hallelujah. A new Golden Age.

Now we have horrible floods, horrible hurricanes and pestilence (an extraordinary foul flu season). This is our Golden age?

It isn't even "almost all".  Sadly there is a vocal minority that has given ALL Christians and especially those who are more evangelical a bad name that is NOT deserved.

You know, I have been meaning to compliment you on your whole "FOX news watcher" gambit.  It really has made a fool of me.  I must admit that I simply cannot compete with your razor sharp wit and rhetorical acumen.

Well done Sir, well done!

You watch FOX news to see what they'll say next, oppose without thought, and then blindly lump all who oppose your views as racists, fascists and sexual deviants.  It’s quite amusing.  Well played to you.

To be honest, I don't have cable but don't let that stop you.  Play on!

I believe there is a special place in hell waiting for Sarah Sanders
