Restaurant near train station good for ad-hoc, casual gathering (no reservations)?

Looking for a place within walking distance of either the South Orange or Maplewood stations that would be good for meeting up with people in the evening commute time (eg any time between 6 and 8). I'm not great at planning gatherings, so I'm going for as low stress and little effort as possible -- no reservations, no rsvps, not sure how many people might actually arrive, but able to accommodate any who might show up for a drink or snack or just to chat.
