Rent Party Family Picnic

An all-day celebration of our 6th Anniversary! Lots and lots of great music and good vibes ... We'll have some food vendors or you can pack a pick-a-nick basket, Boo Boo ... We're gonna be running a food drive too, so bring some non-perishable food items if you can ...

Just confirmed that our pals from Lickt Gelato are going to be there again this year!

I went to two local music festivals last year and they were both fun and had good music but this one was funner and had better music.

Love Wild Carnation! So much good stuff here. I highly recommend the two-disc Rent Party compilation album, which I bought mostly to make a donation to a good cause and didn't have the highest of expectations for, but it turned out to be packed with genuinely great tracks. So happy to have this cool Hoboken-y scene brewing in our backyard! If you're at all into the Feelies, Amy Rigby, etc., this is the event for you.

We will be selling Rent Party 5th Anniverary CDs, as well as Rent Party Family Picnic tee shirts and pint glasses, at the show again this year!

Saturday's forecast ... weather.com says 80 and partly cloudy on Saturday with only a 10% chance of showers ... I can live with that.

We are super excited to welcome Maplewood Touch Rugby to the Rent Party Family Picnic!

What is Touch Rugby?

Touch Rugby is a minimal contact (no tackling, scrums or kicking) version of the popular modern Rugby game. It's typically played with 8-10 players per side with 6 from each team on the field at one time. The object of the game is to score tries (like a touchdown but you actually have to touch the ball on the ground in the end zone).

They're gonna play a couple of exhibition games and will offer instruction to folks who are interested in joining in ...

Just like last year, tomorrow's forecast for Rent Party Family Picnic is, well ... It's sketchy. But we ran into the exact same thing last year and it rained for approximately 40 seconds.

So we're pressing on ... The show will go on.
