Realtor Commissions

Although Realtor commissions are negotiable and certainly there's more to deciding which realtor is best for you beyond their commissions rate, my question is "What is currently the average expected commission rate in Maplewood?"

the norm is 6% paid by the seller, unless otherwise negotiated.

For clarification purposes, the commission, whatever it is, is generally split 50/50 between listing and seller agent.

And to further add - it's then split between the agent and their agency

We paid 5% last year.

It is generally easy to get the commission down to 5%. That is considered standard and acceptable, especially given the high house prices in our area. Going below that may mean you will not get full attention from your agent or interest from buyers agents.
