REALLY need carpenter for custom window frame -

My wife and I decided to replace some stained glass windows in out living room with custom windows that can be opened - I was never too crazy about the stained glass since the exposure was bad and it was a bit dark in there, however she's had second thoughts (after paying the window company) and I am hoping there might be a way to frame the windows so we might re-purpose the stained glass, which she loves, as a decorative feature on the frame, which could be opened to let in air from the outer window (sounds complicated).   Might there be a carpenter who might take on such a project?  Much appreciated

I'm picturing that you are looking to inset a framed stained glass window that will swing in on hinges.  The window will be inset between the window jambs of the new custom window.  Is that correct?

Can you post a picture of the new custom window opening as well as the stained glass window?  Dimensions of each?

That sounds exactly right Jim.

I'll have to measure windows to get exact dimensions, but I'd say the size of the stained glass in the frame can't be more than 20 - 22 inches square - smallish decorative windows, I'm sure you've seen a million times.. apparently I deleted the pics I had of them from my fone :L

Jim, I was off about the dimensions (pic below) - the jamb on the stained glass part is 28 inches top to bottom and the width is 23 - from the edge of the sill there's about 5.5 inches, and there's a protective pane on the outside of the glass - I'm figuring the new window should leave the ledge as it is - this is the window as it is now, they have yet to install the new one, which is clear glass and will open outward.

 - as you said, we would like the hinge the stained glass window so it can be opened inward - do you think it's doable?

Very doable - both references above are great.  Good luck!
