Pls recommend Fall Foliage drives

As this is the first time my parents (who're not from the north east) are visiting us during fall, we'd love to take them for scenic drives nearby (within a 2.5 hour distance but don't necessarily need to go that far!) to see the fall colors. Any recommendations?

Go to Sparta and drive around Lake Mohawk. The houses are fun and the views of the lake thru the turning leaves are lovely. Have lunch and beer at Krogh's.

Woodstock, NY should be good for about a week or two
