One term Trump..............he cannot stand to lose

Not for nothing, but we're supposed to be taking a break from politics. You can still post stuff in the political sub forum.

More than happy to have a moderator move this thread to a place where it would be happy with its brothers and sisters.

In the meantime my 2 cents

Trump has certainly made no friends among the Democrats.

Life is not better for coal miners and factory workers.

His base was a minority one which is slowly, slowly, slowly eroding

He has spent more time campaigning and vacationing rather than being Presidential

Slowly it is coming out that "the Emperor has no clothes"

What is being seen now is a man way out of his comfort zone.

2020 will be Trumpless

 Two questions:

1.  Do you think you could be polite and move it yourself?

2.  When did you first realize that the argument for letting Trump win in 2016 wasn't such a great thing?

i just moved it - you can't edit the category properly when you're not in the sub-forum.  I'll try to figure out a workaround for the future,

Thanks.  That answers one of the two questions.

1st answer Author is always polite..........not always gentle in writing but polite.  If I knew how to do it, I would .

2nd answer which makes me oh so happy to print.  I and others like me did not let Trump win.

The Democratic Party which nominated probably the only candidate in the Western Hemisphere,  who carried more baggage and only claim to fame was raising Chelsea in the White House,  left the door wide open for the guy who occupies the Oval Office.  A carpetbagger from Chicago who only moved to New York when a Senate seat was opening up. She proved herself to be a mediocre Senator and Secretary of State.

In a real contest......she could not cut it.

You can only stand on your laurels when  have laurels.

And that wasn't the question.   Or have all of the arguments from "progressives" to "don't vote for her" now disappeared down the memory hole?

Who argued to let Trump win?  My argument was to let the most suitable candidate.........Bernie take the prize.    Letting the argument for letting Trump win?   I realize that in writing for MOL we are speaking to a smaller audience than the New York Times and Christian Science Monitor and also the Democratic candidate whoever he/ she was would easily take NJ.  If you are saying that advocating for the candidate of my choice

was not a permissible thing,  you have a lot of soul searching to do.

I do nothing out of fear.

General election.  Not the primaries where Bernie was running.  But you know that.  Pretending not to is the "dodge".

Who isn't gun-shy about '20 election after the debacle of '16? Both candidates were historically unpopular and we chose (through the EC) the "newer" awful candidate. Trump's proven that anything is possible in such a divided nation, including rollbacks of all progressive accomplishments of BHO Era.

We may well end up with Biden as the "safe" candidate, effectively delaying progress until he's "stabilized" the country.

I am multi lingual and in this case I refuse to use a google definition.

You apparently have your own definition of words to which we are not all privy.

Will reply to your comment or more accurately accusation when you make it more clear just what you are saying

the article you cited is seven months old, and a lot of the speculation about eroding support among Trump's base has proven not to be true.

That doesn't mean Trump will necessarily be reelected, but it does mean the arguments contained in the article you referenced is obsolete.

I am looking at his inability to fulfill promises rather than pose for photo ops.  Someone posted on my Facebook page a memo from the employer of the site of his 8/13 Trump rally

He can stand there all day with that **** eating grin on his face and lie about his accomplishments.  However the fact of the matter is the entire crowd behind him was there because they were threatened with the loss of a days pay should they not turn out.

His economic policies are hurting those who depend on a weekly  paycheck and the 50 per cent of the populace that invests in the Stock Market.  This policy of blaming the Dems, the Europeans the Chinese etc

has worn thin .  Anyone who seems to have an ounce of sense leaves his administration ASAP

Wall.........do you see a wall?   It will not get any better.

Trump will walk away declaring he saved the country and needs to work on his putting.

Hope springs eternal

It's WAY too early for predictions. And who knows how the Electoral College will shake out next year. But the latest Fox News poll was interesting to me in that Trump polled the exact same 39% against each of the Democratic contenders. It was just below his 42% approval rating in the same poll. So maybe his ceiling really is the 40% or so who still approve of his job performance.

I don't get what this thread is about.

LOL!  I literally clicked on the thread to make exactly the same post.  What is it about? I read upthread but I can't figure it out. Is it just about some sort of personal dispute?

This thread,  which did go off track quickly,  is about the fact that Author, the less than well known futurist

is predicting that Donald Trump will not run again.

Wait, is Author the Mooch? ;-)

No Boyo........Author is Author.  Always has been and always shall be.

The longest running thread is the one with "Rose Garden" in the title.

What the **** is that about?

It's about nothing.  It's the "Seinfeld" of MOL threads.

History has shown the "chosen" don't give up. They try to hang on, no matter what.

It can get ugly.

it seems like the originator's blog.  It isn't about anything other than what interests her on a given day.

Sometimes they hang on until they are hanged.
