NJDEP residential water testing for lead and copper

Did anyone else receive a letter from the town requesting water samples to check for lead and copper levels? The letter says my house may be a Tier 1 site as defined by the NJDEP, meaning it may have a lead service line, copper piping constructed between 1983 and 1996, or lead plumbing. Testing is being required by NJDEP and EPA.

This is in South Orange, but maybe Maplewood is doing it as well?

Take advantage of the free testing. It is sometimes hard for the water companies to find people in the right location who are willing to sample to fulfill their sampling requirements.
