New Water Company Come January?

So it has been posted elsewhere that East Orange Water told a resident of So Orange that American Water is taking over come January 2016. From what I have previously read, major infrastructure work needed to be done and this turnover wasn't scheduled until a year from that. Did the work get done early? Hope Hope Hope!

NJAW has been digging up several streets on the Maplewood-South Orange border in the past few weeks to install the new water main, including today, so they are working on it.

I thought January 2017 was the date but perhaps they figured it out sooner? Great!

It was 2017 IIRC, though given the 100% chance I will be misbilled for even THINKING poor thoughts of EOWC, I salute our overlords to the East and wish them continued good health!

We are officially switching our primary water supply to EOWC effective Jan. 1, 2017

We are currently negotiating and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) agreement that will be effective Jan. 1, 2017 but most likely implement a priority Capital Program next year.

We have 12 more months of dealing with East Orange, let's just hope those 12 months are error free!

Thanks Howard. @levisonhw TO EOWC or away from them? A poster on another site says she spoke to EOWC today and they said the changeover was THIS January.

Maybe EOWC  thinks they are done as of December 31 this year.  And NJAWC is expecting to turn on their service for January 1 2017.
