Need General Labor Help

Do high school or college age "kids" work any more? I could use some help with yard work, putting up a fence, landscaping and finishing up some projects around the house. There must be some teenagers or students home from college that are looking to make a few bucks and possibly learn something along the way. Or am I better off driving down Scotland and picking up a few workers that way? I don't mind being available/around when they're working, but don't want to end up in a situation where I have to stand there and supervise someone's every movement the entire day.
