Seton Hall got a very tough draw as the 8 seed in the West. And they have to travel to San Diego. If only they could have beaten UConn in the tournament, maybe they could have got themselves a 7.
You know my team. Go RU. All sports fans.... You gotta have a team. Win or lose.
I used to text my daughter who also went to RU on a Thursday during football season. (She had zero interest in sports.) So, I would text, "Are you going to the football game this weekend?" She would always text back, "Game, What game?" It showed a kind of father-daughter love. Nice memory.
In January I actually thought Seton Hall had Final Four potential. But when Aiken was injured it left them in a bad place because their backup point guard Jahari Long had already been lost for the season. They've been winning but without a true point guard, scoring has been a grind. So I'm rooting, but not with those high expectations any more.
From The Athletic’s list of a local brew for every team in the tourney.
The brewery: Four City
The beer: Keg Stand Lager
The first brewery to operate in Orange, N.J., in nearly 40 years, just up the road from Seton Hall’s campus, Four City — the culmination of 10 years of informal beer enthusiasm organized in a local group called “The Beer Council” — has been a hit since co-owner Roger Apollon Jr. opened its doors in August 2019. Four City’s core audience is very much there for its selection of crafty beers, but Apollon went with a crowd-pleaser for the tourney. “While lagers may not be as sexy as IPAs or sours, they are the perfect complement when spending a few hours talking trash and eating endless appetizers,” he says. “If Budweiser had a younger sister who went to grad school, it would be The Keg Stand: sophisticated and balanced, but can still party. Plus, who doesn’t appreciate a good keg stand during the tailgate?”
Ugh....RU falls in double overtime 89-87. A really exciting game. It ended after midnight on St. Patrick's Day. So, RU basketball had a great memorable season with excellent wins and painful loses. But this is what sports is about. Best of everything to the graduating seniors
Go Seton Hall and Go St. Peter's..

what a game. RU had their chances and let it get away. I really thought we'd see 3 OTs.
Told my friend who graduated from St. Peter's that I couldn't respect anyone who got his degree from a place that's just a basketball factory. Seriously, what a win for the Peacocks! And, of course, a big Seton Hall connection with Shaheen Holloway as coach.

Although I’m a Michigan fan, they didn’t deserve an invite.
Hey, Maize and Blue, it's a good thing the committee didn't ask you if Michigan should get a bid.
Congrats to Michigan, and go Big Ten!
St. Peters...story of the tourney. And the next coach at Seton Hall.
All season, Carolina fans said these Heels could win any game by 25 or lose any game by 25. Never thought it could be the same game.

Fantastic game. I found myself rooting for the Baylor comeback but ultimately was happy for the OT result. War of attrition toward the end.

No way was UNC, like 250th in the nation in bench scoring, going to win in OT with two starters out. Wonders never cease.

Amazing how quickly things can change in sports. In three days, Seton Hall fans went from outrage over the idea that Willard would leave for Maryland to happily painting Coach Holloway's name on a parking space.

nope. They would have been on the outside looking in. They’ve been hot and cold all year. Hot now. Turned a miserable season into a good one even without another win.

St. Peter's..Elite Eight........Holy Hudson County!
Woot!
Errr, this is where I hop off the St. Peter’s bandwagon. It’s all gravy for the Heels, though, so no hard feelings if they send the Peacocks off to the Final Four.
Haven’t checked yet, but I wonder what the record is for highest seed total for an Elite 8 game.
Looks like 20 was the record — Kansas State (9) vs. Loyola-Chicago (11) in 2018.
Outta here, record!
D goes to University of Miami and we have been enjoying those games (especially since our alma mater Syracuse didn’t make it) but I told my hubby if UM plays St Peters in the final (lol) I’d route for St Peters.
Carolina vs. Duke for the first time ever in the tournament, and it’s the Final Four in Krzyzewski’s last season.
No pressure on either team (or their fans).
