What a great game tonight. And great relief that Monday night won't be overshadowed by endless tributes to Coach K.

Lots of shared history and connections in the Kansas-Carolina final. UNC beat Wilt Chamberlain and Kansas in triple OT to win the 1957 NCAA championship. Dean Smith played at Kansas for Phog Allen, who succeeded James Naismith as coach. Roy Williams, of course, was Smith’s assistant before taking the Kansas job and then returning to Carolina. Hubert Davis’ lead assistant is Brad Frederick, a former Carolina walk-on whose father, Bob, was Kansas athletic director for 14 years.

It was worth the wait.

As a Knicks fan from the 90’s when they were actually a good team, I’m glad to see Hubert Davis get as far as he has, especially as a freshman coach.

Hey, that Kansas team is pretty good. Congrats to the Jayhawks.
