My last MacBook shopping question

If you were buying a MacBook for a family member, which model would you get? Weight and portability are not important, but I want something that will be useful for a long, long time. Is the Pro worth the extra $150?

MacBook Air, 13 inch display, new, 1.6 GHz dual-core i5, 8 Gb memory (standard now), 128 Gb SSD, $949.

MacBook Pro, 13 inch Retina display, Apple refurbished, 2.7 GHz dual-core i5, 8 Gb memory, 128 Gb SSD, $1099.

For me, the Pro was worth it. It's faster, and I got the one with the 250GB SSD. 250 is really tight, honestly. Every month or so, I have to do a major cleanup. You should really keep your storage use below 90% of capacity, for performance and safety.
