Did the topic of MPD review of security camera footage come up at HQ?

No. It was after hours, so the person at the window didn't mention anything. I hope they ask for any camera footage from the surrounding shops.
I have to say that the window in the police station lobby with the one-way mirror foil is a little weird.
I agree about the window in the police station. The whole anonymous setup feels like a battle-ready military outpost in a war zone. It feels dehumanizing, and interferes with a feeling of human contact, citizen safety, and sharing of meaningful information.

Good samaritanship there, PeterWick. I hope the next time I lose something you’re right behind me.
My only question is: What purpose would security footage serve in this case?
Friend of mine found a Macy’s brown bag full of cash in a cab on 45 street in Manhattan some 30 years ago, she freaked out, gave it to two policemen standing on the corner of fifth avenue… didn’t get any documentation showing she gave the money to the police. Her husband went ballistic on her, because they were struggling to save money to buy a house. They got divorced about two years after that.
Peter, did you get documentation stating that you had deposited the exact amount of money at the police headquarters? Your information and address? Because if no one comes forward to claim it, I think you should get it.

-- when someone claims the money, does it look like that person.

Yup, the dispensary has a camera but it doesn’t really catch the sidewalk at Tandoori Kitchen. Someone might recognize the person. Some folks at Tandoori saw my wife pick up the stuff and look around. They didn’t see who dropped it though.
Howdy folks. Someone lost a considerable amount of cash around 4:00-4:15 PM on Saturday 2/11. It was found outside Tandoori Kitchen. It can’t have been there too long before my wife picked it up as she walked to me waiting in the car. This is a sum that would definitely be missed
The money is at the 1618 Springfield Ave police station now I posted this on SOMA Lounge and the moderator suggested I do that. Call them up and tell them the amount or so and the kinds of bills the stack.
I went to all the stores up and down Maplewood Ave and no one had come in asking about any found money. I’ve left my name and number at each of the open establishments.
