Looking to join a tennis club in area

Does anyone belong to either to the Maplewood tennis club or South Orange Lawn club. We are looking to join a tennis club and was wondering what people think of the 2. We do not know anyone at the Maplewood Tennis so not sure how someone would be able to get a membership .

the nearest clubs with tennis:

Maplewood Country Club

Maplewood ("Little") Club on Ridgewood Rd.

Orange Lawn Tennis Club (now on their website lamely going by the longtime nickname of "The Club at Orange Lawn")

Wyoming Tennis Club, just over the Millburn line in the Wyoming section

Berkeley Tennis Club, just over the Orange line (in the Seven Oaks section?)

Just joined Maplewood Tennis Club last year.  The members are really nice and helpful.  Give them a call!

I am looking at the website looks like a nice club. How would someone be able to join if they did not know anyone who belongs to the club. It looks like you need 3 references or people who are members.

If you explain to them that you do not know any current members, they might be able to introduce you to a few.
The vibe is very casual and friendly.  This is why we enjoy hanging out there.

Hi jim4284.  I am the Membership Trustee at the Maplewood Club and we welcome new members. I'll PM you with some info.

Actually @jim4284 I can't figure out how to PM with the new system.  You can reach me at membership@maplewoodclub.com.

Hi Jim,

I've been a longtime member of OLTC. I'd be happy to help give you all the info you want. For starters, we have 10 har-tru and 10 beautifully manicured grass courts. We also have alot of players with very active social round robins (just this past sunday there were 40 players in the round robin). Additionally, there's a beautiful pool open from memorial weekend until late september. And of course, our well-known paddle courts and hut. Just this past season, we had the most paddle members of any club in the near vicinity. You can definitely go visit the club and ask for the general manager Joelle. You also do not need a sponsor as done in the past.  Let me know if you have any questions.

The Little Club is awesome - fun people, relaxed vibe and good tennis. Come join us!

I joined Centercourt in Chatham a few years ago.  I like it because it offers year round tennis and my friends are there now too.

The seasonal clubs around here look nice too though and probably are more cost effective.

I know that OLTC has both tennis and an outdoor pool does the Maplewood Club have a pool as well?  Also roughly what is the yearly membership for both of these clubs?

OLTC has a great Chef.
