The car wash on Irvington Ave in South Orange. I don’t recall the name. Inexpensive and quick.
I don't get why most car washes have employees who dry your car with towels at the end. It takes extra time, and I find they often leave smudges on the windows, probably because the towels aren't that clean. For this reason I like the car washes where you stay in your car and just drive off at the end. That said I don't know if there are any of these car washes around here. The only one I know if is an hour away in Bradley Beach.

By the second or third wipedown, using the same towel, they are passing the smudge on the towel from car to car. By 4:30 pm, ...... you're lucky if you can see out the windshield when you leave the lot.
Not to be contrarian, but...
With the drive-throughs the car floors gradually fill up with gravel etc. and the windshield fogs because of "exhalations" from the vinyl. I can keep a rag in the car and dust the dash and controls, but i'd rather someone else did it. Locally (not NJ), our old carwash (similar to the one on Irvington) closed and was replaced by a shiny new one, a ride-through with "free vacuums," same price as the old one that cleaned the interior. "Free," whoopee! I don't want to vacuum, thanks.
Thanks for the recommendation - went to the car wash on South Orange Avenue last Monday - so I saved $2.
Exterior was clean and they did a decent job on the interior. Just what I wanted at a reasonable price.

That's on Irvington and they do a good job! Discounts for Women and Vets!

Once upon a time I would go to the Summit car wash - my car would be nicely washed and the interior would be adequately vacuumed and wiped down. On a busy day it might take 30 minutes and cost less than $30.
It is now under new management and you don't get what you pay for.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I've heard mixed reviews of Mr. Bubbles and the Millburn car wash.
I'm looking for a "traditional" car wash. The car is too old to justify spending the time and money to get it detailed.
