Just Lost Power Briefly

... Courter between Prospect and Summit.  Hope it stays back on.  Feel free to post power outages, down trees, down power lines, blocked roadways to this thread.

If a line goes down in the snow, will it electrify the snow?  This is currently a hypothetical question but, the way the neighbor's tree is tilting over, it could become very real any moment.

We also lost power briefly.  S. Pierson/Broadview/Rynda neighborhood.  I hope everyone remains safe, warm and with power!

Power out right now on Saint Lawrence Avenue

Power out Kendal / Jefferson area gulp

PSEG estimating power back on at 10:45 p.m.

Power out on Tuscan Road between Valley and Prospect. Blow transformer and some downed power lines.

Ha! 10:45pm on March 14th? Hearing how many trees and power lines are down it seems PSEG is being a wee bit optimistic but let’s see....

Completely off topic but where have you been? My film thread died a horrible death without you. I asked T on the music thread and we decided one of us should PM you so I did! Wow and you pop up in a snowstorm! Anyway, welcome back!

I am sorry about the film thread...maybe it can be raised from the dead. I dunno, work and life just got the best of me. Thanks for the nice sentiment!

trees and powerline down at the intersection of Garfield Pl and Coolidge Rd

Just read the PSEG email informing restoration will take several days.  I’m starting the guess how long game with my original guestamation in last post of 3/14...pi day!

what email is that? Details?

Our power went out around 9 last night around Valley.  PSE&G gave us an estimate of late Saturday night.  Thankfully it just came back on.

Never able to figure it out...........Maplewood Village does not lose power in the winter

But it certainly does during the summer .    I guess one out of two ain't bad

Any luck in the Jefferson/Ridgewood area?

Power remains out.

Town Hall open for cell phone charging and warming.  Community Center open at DeHart Park open.

Huge tree down, taking wires with it, on Maryland Rd. The tree was on Jefferson School property, now it’s blocking the street. Luckily house it fell in front of was spared but for this incident alone think it will be awhile in Jefferson / Ridgewood area.

S Pierson/Broadview/Rhynda section:  We had multiple brief outages, and then out from abt 9:45 PM Wed (originally scheduled for restoration 'by Saturday') thru 7:30 AM Thu.

My theory:  Considering how often I see PSE&G service vehicles by the Parkwood at dinner time, there is an added benefit to being so close to the Parkwood in situations like this one.
