Place son in law ran as chef, probably still one of the best in Boston
Troquet
Lovely views of the Common and proximity to a variety of theaters give Troquet an advantage location-wise, but the food is outstanding as well, and the wine list is deservedly award-winning. Plus, it's probably the only place you'll see servers scooping butter out of a giant basket that is completely full of butter.

Have eaten here many times, always good food- stepdaughter was in the kitchen for a long time before moving on to open their own place
Toro
Chef-owner Ken Oringer and chef Jamie Bissonnette team up for one of the city's hardest-to-get-into restaurants. Toro serves modern and traditional tapas ranging from simple grilled corn to elaborate dishes pairing seafood and charcuterie with rich, bold flavors that keep the crowds lining up. And now they're lining up in New York City as well — Oringer and Bissonnette recently celebrated their first year at a new location in Chelsea.

Another place, I have taken work friends and more to this place, again fab
And yes, Daughter in law worked here as well....
Seriously need to try chinatown in Boston - I will try to track down the name of the place all the restaurant chefs go to after work....
In Cambridge: Alden & Harlow, Bondir, Puritan & Co., Craigie on Main, West Bridge. In Somerville: La Brasa, Journeyman, Bergamot, Highland Kitchen. One of my favorites in Boston, Hamersley's Bistro, closed last year.
a sommelier friend of mine loves Erbaluce...haven't had the chance to go there yet while visiting my daughter, but will try it one of these days. We did eat at the Salty Pig which was fun, casual porcine goodness.
any recs in little italy up there? something more than pizza?

Henrietta's Table in the Charles Hotel is divine.
My friends and I would go to S&S Diner in Cambridge all the time. Still hope it's great.
On of my fav hole in the wall spots for breakfast (and beer!) will always be The Pour House on Boylston Street. Ahhh....memories.

That's the place.
I'm sure the OPs college-bound daughter will enjoy all the other places mentioned - but I mean really - let's cut to the chase here.
Promote your business here - Businesses get highlighted throughout the site and you can add a deal.
Looking for some new places to try when we visit our college daughter. Interested in places in Back Bay, Beacon Hill, North End, Cambridge and Somerville. We have a few favorites and want to branch out.
Thanks!
