Is it significantly different from the way lobster rolls are made in NJ?

I haven't tried it yet - took that image from their site. Looking at their menu - the classic roll looks pretty standard to what you would normally get. The signature lobster roll are pretty unique, including a $100 Golden roll where the claws are wrapped in edible 24k gold leaf.
This menu is from their main site - I'm guessing is will be the same for Maplewood.
It was more of a joke on their stupid tagline, but now I've seen the menu I'm more in awe of how **** ridiculous this place is.
I have an image of Gordon Ramsay staring at a chef putting jerk sauce on lobster and laying into him / her with a scree of invective.
I can get 30 sheets of 24k edible gold leaf from Amazon for $7, and this place drops it on your crustacean sandwich and charges you $100 for it. **** ridiculous.

The most expensive dump you ever take.
I had 24K covered chocolate once as a sample at a food show. I didn't pay for it. The gold leaf added nothing to the experience but again, the most expensive crap I ever took ... then again, what about the time I got consti...aw. forget it.
Dunno. Weren't lobster rolls at Maplewoodstock around $15.00?
But good luck to 'em.

St. James’s Gate online menu lists the lobster roll at $23.
What will the market bear? How good are those lobster rolls? I don't eat shellfish (allergy) but my husband would be willing to pay if the product was worth it...
Seems like a personal preference thing.
I’d much rather shell out ;-) 5 bucks or so more and get a 1 1/4 lb lobster with a baked potato and corn and do the work with a bib on.
I don't care for lobster, except for as a bisque.
There, I said it.

Hotel Amarano in Burbank, CA had a great lobster bisque. It's a meal in itself.

I'll make a note.
visit sometime. Last time I was there I hung out for a couple hours with Mickey Dolenz. Nice guy.
Apparently lobster rolls are pricey all over.

WISCASSET, Maine — On the first weekend of June, the scene at Red’s Eats seemed much like summers past. The line of tourists waiting to order at this picturesque seafood shack ran down the block. The sun beat down and employees passed out umbrellas and water, the sort of nicety you provide when your restaurant makes “best of” lists and causes traffic jams in attracting people from across the country.
Red’s menu offered its usual fare of sea scallops, whole belly deep-fried clams and its most famous dish, a fresh lobster roll, “piled high.”
The only change was the price: This year, the lobster roll is $30.
“Are you kidding me?” said Bindu Gajria, who was vacationing from Philadelphia and hadn’t checked the menu before getting in line. “I was going to order one, but now I’m having second thoughts.”
And $30 was a relative bargain. Two weeks earlier, as reported in the Bangor Daily News, Red’s was selling the sandwich for $34 — a mere $136 to feed a family of four.

If you ever get the chance to eat a lobster roll at Red’s Eats- you should-regardless of the cost

To be honest, I wish them well. I’m just sick of Brooklyn stuff.
I hear you. But they do need to cater to the customer base. All those people on social media complaining that they can't get great Thai/Indian/Vietnamese/Jamaican/Hungarian/Nepalese food delivered right to their door 24/7 like when they lived in Brooklyn.

It's always disappointing, I know that much.

On a Pepperidge farms top-sliced hot dog bun.
All surf, but no turf.
If they had a couple of turf items, I would try it. I'm not a fan of lobster.
Quite an impressive selection of lobster rolls.

The menu that Jamie posted is a partial image. The online menus under individual locations include chicken wings.
