If you didn't shovel, yes.

Even if one shoveled, it's often needed depending on run-off and many other factors. I am not talking hypothetically.

Just came back from the bus stop, sidewalks are VERY icy

I nearly wiped out on an ice patch while looking at my phone and not paying attention, like an idiot.

Definitely treacherous if you're not aware.  

The street in front of my house was a block of ice this morning.  DPW and MPD closed off the portion of the road and heavily salted it.  

Most main roads through SOMA seemed clear and dry around 7:30. However, the sidewalks around our house were treacherous, and they had been shoveled. Slush and runoff turned to solid ice and temps are below freezing. Plus, many folks didn't shovel, probably in the hopes that the snow would wash away. Be careful walking.
