Since I marathoned House of Cards a few weeks back, I’ve been replaying a few things in my head — Rachel walking down that long road (RIP), the final "I'm not going to New Hampshire" exchange, and Claire Underwood's totally spotless, no-hair-out-of-place beauty. The look, as House of Cards’ lead makeup artist, Tricia Sawyer, told me, is one that's “present and polished” and projects “strength in her silence.”
Sawyer explained that Wright uses an unexpected high-low mix of makeup on the show: Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Dior Eyebrow Pencil, and a lipstick, Sonia Kashuk No. 21, which she buys at Target. Like Underwood, the understated pale-pink lip color has an unexpected side: It's called Sheer Pink Lust.
Even as First Lady, Sawyer explained, Claire doesn’t change her beauty often (other than drastic hair transformations from blonde to dark and back again) but stays with constants. “I think it’s true that on most women, they don’t change their lip and eyebrow colors very often," she says. "It grows to become part of their wardrobe — and I wanted her to have that same thing, because real women don’t change a lot.” And at $10.99 per tube of lipstick, what could be more real?

The Union store next to Whole Foods is out of stock. The Union store on 22 is currently in stock, as is the Watchung store, also on 22. Linden is "low stock."

Beppolina, this comment jogged my memory in a really weird connection. I was at my mother's house clearing stuff out and setting aside things to bring home, and two of the things I am bringing home for me are wool coats from Mom's closet. They are gorgeous, and I knew they reminded me of something... they remind me of Olivia Pope!!!!!!! LOL!
And now you guys have me wanting that lipstick... I don't even wear lipstick!
My friend is undergoing assorted medical tests for next few days, including MRI. She said she'll spend the time visualing herself as Claire, and trying work out how to walk in those heels! 
J was trying for a few days to log on as me, to say thanks to one and all, especially Spontaneous, for your help in identifying and getting this lipstick. She's been proudly wearing it all week, and can't believe how rich it is. It really suits her, too! One of the very few high points in the last couple of weeks for her, so 'great job, MOL!

I'm happy to hear it made it there okay. I was a bit worried because the temps were super high here when I mailed it out. I purchased one for myself and do agree that it is a very nice color.

Does anyone know the name and brand of lipstick that Robin Wright wears in House of Cards, please? I have a friend in Melbourne who's yearning to wear it.
