Help preserve beekeeping in New Jersey by FRIDAY JUNE 26

Signal boost for a beekeeping friend:

The beekeeping legislation has been posted for a vote in the New Jersey Senate on Monday, June 29th!

Please contact your state senator urging him or her to vote for the bills, which are vitally important to beekeeping and agriculture in the state of New Jersey. The bills are:

S1328 - Extends Right to Farm Act protection to commercial beekeepers, with some restrictions.

S1975 - Establishes exclusive State regulatory authority over apiary activities and allows for delegation of monitoring and enforcement authority to municipalities.

S2302 - Establishes penalty for destruction of man-made native bee hive.

If you do not know who your state senator is, go to http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/legsearch.asp. Email or call your senator to ask them to vote for these bills on Monday.
