Harrisburg/train station area

Am considering taking Amtrak to Harrisburg, arriving during the evening. How Is the area around the station at night for walking around to dinner/hotel etc?

I have used the Harrisburg Bus Terminal during the day a few times.  It is located just a short distance from their Train Station.

I always felt the area itself was a bit seedy but never had to go anywhere as I was just transferring to another bus.

There is a fair to middling Comfort Inn an easy cab ride away.  It gets decent ratings and has a restaurant to fill that need.  As to walking around,  no I saw nothing within a few blocks as we approached the Bus Station that looked very interesting.
