Hang in there Hong Kong (and Dave)!

The peak of the storm lasted about six hours and our flat on the 28th floor was swaying a good 4-6" to and fro.  Literally felt like being on a boat.   Saw a lampshade go flying by our window at one point, which is when I took a sleeping pill and would wake up after this nonsense was over (Netflix wasn't cutting it).  Wind is still whipping trees in a park far below, so it won't likely won't be safe to go out until later tomorrow.

Thank you so much for the update.  Glad you are OK.

What were the wind speeds up there?

Stay safe. Still sorry I gave away my Star Ferry t with the typhoon warnings. And I'm sure you know:

Ferry Service Suspension

Because of typhoon and bad sea condition, Star Ferry will be suspended this morning until further notice.

180mph in the Philippines; about 120mph when it reached us.

That must have been fun on the 28th floor.

Possibly the strongest storm on the planet this year..

Absolutely is...so far. West pac storms are a different breed.

Yes - all is good.  Just a lot of building swaying.   grin

Glad to hear that. Maybe its time to come home!

It's official: this was the strongest typhoon to hit HK since record keeping began and amazingly zero fatalities.
