Gap between gutter and fascia

A gap developeded between the fascia and the gutter in the front of the house after the cold winter. Now water pours done the front of the house. The gutter guys we use suggested adding a drip edge. Any thoughts if this would be sufficient? I use Nick Kosh for cleanings. Any feedback on them or others to do more involved work? Thanks

Just hope the flashing on your house is well done - we developed a gap and water got into our house before we could fix it. It was a mess

The right way to do it is to resecure the gutter with gutter screws/hangers.... The drip edge is temp and bandaid fix...

How big of a gap? Normally I would say that it sounds like the gutters pulled away some perhaps due to prolonged ice but the roofing should overhang the gutter by at least an inch so I'm having a hard time visualizing why water should be running down the house unless of course its such a low slope roof the the water is wrapping around the edge of the shingles and getting behind the gutter. Some roofers let the ice/water shield wrap onto the fascia and then install the gutter.

Sounds like your gutter guys are trying to sell you on a new product that will probably cost more than if they simply added or replaced gutter screws and tightened up your existing system. Maybe get a second opinion?

It also sounds like you might have had ice damming this past winter. If that's true, look at the insulation in your attic and beef it up so you don't have the same effect next year.
