Frequency of Lawn Mowing

Just trying to get a general consensus from those who use a lawn service.  How often is your lawn mowed per month?  I know it can depend on weather but I also know that some services will show up on a schedule regardless of whether the grass needs mowing or not.    No need to mention specific lawn service companies as this property is not local.  Just looking for "frequency" responses.  What do you think is a reasonable schedule?  TIA.

For me it is once a week, if it is less than that, the lawn starts to look tacky.

I don't use a service, but like @emmie, I find that early in the season if more than a week goes by, my lawn (and others in my hood) look tacky / unkempt.  After July, probably every other week seems fine.

Once/week. When you get into September, maybe every other week.

From late April to early June, weekly or almost weekly is pretty necessary.  But later in the summer it can go two weeks or even longer, depending on rainfall, etc.  Unfortunately flexibility in scheduling like that doesn't seem to be possible with most landscaping companies.  That's one of the reasons we still DIY.

I mow my lawn here.  I have a vacation home and I'm there maybe two weekends/month.  Potential landscaper would like to mow more than I think is necessary.  Just getting a feel for the norm.  Anyone else have thoughts?

For vacation home, I would think two weekends per month is adequate, perhaps every 3rd week.  Our vacation home is in a very rustic setting with no view to street and once per month is quite adequate.

I think it depends on the surrounding homes. Are they vacation as well? My grandparents had a settlement with their friends of cottages. One by one the neighbors over the years converted these cottages to permanent homes. What once was acceptable to weed whack and then mow became a disgrace of our lone standing cottage. We didn't choose to move there or hire a lawn service so we sold it.
